Re: Being towed from parking in my own driveway
my situation is slightly different, it is not so much a moving violation, but rather a parking violation. Parking in my own driveway. It seems in the city in which I live (Brampton) it is a by-law infraction to park your vehicle in your driveway unless it has a valid up to date sticker on the rear plate. My vehicle is backed into the driveway ...

I thought that it was .022 per drink.
I agree with the .015 per hour elimination though.
4 drinks in an hour would be .088 - .015= .073
Above for 160 pound man.
Years ago the police used to release a chart like that.

Re: Offence Section Missing - Question.
It used to be that "submissions like that"
needed to be objectioned before jurisdiction was determined.
ie: as you approach the bench you object.
Then point out the omission.
I beat at least 3 tickets that way back when I was a speeder.
I believe that the ticket can be amended only after the trial has started.

how do you appropriately tell a cop he aint gonna be searching your vehicle? First off, I dont trust cops in Scarborough and really, hes opening the door for them to plant something.
How does this kid excersise his rights without getting his face smashed into the hood of a cruiser?
becuse once he says no, then they think hes hiding something ...

hey
I have seen them turn on them early too.
I think they are on a schedule and need to save time.
If anyone looked at a school bus driver's manual
I think it will say that the bus must stop before activating lights.Ask for schoolbus driver, the cop's and the kids' on it (the bus) discloser.
Maybe the manual for school buses?(or bring it)

Great ideas....plus we jointly re-write the HTA to make sense

Only point I disagree with is the above and it is not the ease of challenging the offence. There has to be some penalty, say $250-500 added to the fine for a "no ...

My 2 cents
A 1998 Buick will go 750 km on a tank at 140 kph and 600 km at 100 kph
!5 liter saving.
I think the on ramp problems are from new drivers who think the yellow/black speed signs are the limit.(so they speed up to 60 on the ramp and find highway speed after they enter it).
My KPL test was done with a 3800 v6 engine that had 400,000 km ...

Ok, but I bet after at least two trial dates (the cop stuck in court for 2 mornings) and being bothered for disclosure over a $20 parking fine they damn well won't give me a future ticket that I don't deserve!
It's really not about the $20. Maybe I'll lose the trial and be found guilty... I don't care. But there is no way in hell that I'll ever ...

Actually careless driving is possibly the easiest charge in the HTA to prove.
Really? Of all the cases I've seen, careless is usually the one that gets the highest number of acquittals/withdrawals/reduced. How many of the people you charged (rough estimate) got professional help with their case?
