What do I say in Court
I was issued a Summons to Defendant, Section 7.1.b, and now I got to appear in court. Where could I find information on set fine amounts or the maximum punishment? Is it normal to be dragged to court for plate not properly displayed? After all, it is not a moving violation, and I wasnt endangering anyone. Would it affect my insurance?

The set fine is $85 and can be found in Schedule 43. I can't find the statutory amount for this offence anywhere. Can someone help me out on this?

I didn't forget the "addons", I was just wondering if there was a statutory amount above $500, otherwise why issue the summons?

- was the driver already charged with that offence and still refuses to bring a vehicle into compliance and was stopped again?

That's a good point. Also he may have been issued a summons under Part 1 s.3(2)(b) instead of Part 3.
