Charged with careless driving from a collission in Mar 2010. I pleaded not gulity and a court date was set for August 2010. Attended the trail on the set date only to betold that it had to be postponed because the officicer did not have enough time to gather the evidence prior to the trail. I was informed that there would be a new trail date set in January 2011. I Just recieved a notice of conviction today that I needed to pay the $500.00 Fee. I wasn't informed of the new trail date. Anyone have input to help me out on this situation?

You should be able to appeal on the grounds that you never received notice of the new court date.
