Just like to take time and reflect at this time of year. Not that the other parts of the year are not as important, but seems a lot of us, myself included get excited and minds wander all over. With pressures of shopping/gift exchange/visiting friends and family etc. we all seem to get drawn into the rush and busy times.

I wonder if it's different since you're HSD and I assume you have a workstation in your vehicle to do simple checks. The guys here call all plates into the com centre - parked, rolling, traffic stop, etc., and the dispatcher runs it through CPIC and ISS. I'd say a comment along the lines of "your marker was run yesterday morning by Peel, nothing ...

There is no record on the police system of each stop or incident. It is only on CPIC, which I think lasts for 7 days.
Only way a record gets on police system is a traffic complaint, then the officer has to tell the dispatcher to physically check the in house system which maybe i hear once every 2 months.

I am not that familiar with Charter law, but a lot of the ruling seem to be quite liberal in their interpretations. However this is a side issue to the original helmet charge, and largely irrelevent. He was a pedestrian walking his bike at the time of the ticket, he was not observed riding with no helmet..

No where will you find an 80km/h zone transition directly to a 50km/h zone, that not safe due to a drastic difference in high to low speeds.
there are hundreds of 80-50 zones.
County Rd 46 (South Woodslee), just street view near 1612 County rd 46, South Woodslee, can see both signs 50 and the 80, plus that area also adds in a community safe zone ...

You not only have to have time to make the turn, but have to be able to get up to and or near the speed limit. Neither you or your son would be able to see brake lights of the vehicles.

basically i'm fighting the fact its not a 50km/h zone. should I go try to get something done before I enter a plea or enter the not guilty plea and go through the proceedings regularly and make the officer look silly like he doesn't even know what the speed limit is in an area he's handing out speeding tickets?

It's a real piss off that in an area where the signage is messed up and its a transition zone from 50 or 60 to an 80km/h zone thats where a cop hangs out.
there are absolutely NO transition zones when the speed limit increases. Just b/c one can see a sign or knows about a sign 300m or 1000m ahead does not make it legal to just stomp on the ...

sounds like the initial court date was made in error and the prosecutor could not deal with it due to an error on the paperwork, therefore another summons was typed up with a proper court date
