does not matter "who" owns the vehicle, who is driving is responsible as manwithaplan stated when stopped.
and simply for a conviction the plate is expired on date stopped or not

Yellow is specific to the left side = caution approaching vehicles or median, similiar to yellow cautionary signs (ie: road turns left ahead)

Re: What to do if you witness an HTA infraction
an offence notice for an HTA infraction could be issued to the driver. Now the variables...
- are you willing to come to court and testify, should the driver challenge the offence notice?
- did you see the officer stop the vehicle, thus being the person driving at that time is now identified

There is a situation out there, in plan in recent years and possibly still currrent, whereby a Driver is given a Notice of Reinstatement of DL from MTO, AND YET, the OPP dbase in Orillia has same driver on record as suspended.
that is NOT accurate, all police (OPP and Municipal) obtain the driver information instantly and directly from the MTO ...

Yes, correct G1 supersedes all licences that one might hold outside of Ontario.
You could have several offences
- G1 fail to surrender licence
- G1 no accompany driver = conviction is a 30 day licence suspension
hmmm.. wonder how the insurance is going to deal with this with no accompany driver

Re: Unsafe lane change and destroyed evidence
Safety is priority #1...If the cars are moveable we get them off the road into a safe location. This prevents further collisions and prevents traffic congestion. There is absolutely no reason to block a lane/intersection etc.. if the vehicles can be moved to a safe location.
To what you described, sounds like the correct offence.

I intend to speak to the Crown in a Pre Trial however for my last ticket this crown seemed to and did not have the time so they say to do such a thing. The crown however was cautioned during Trial time because of the growing size of the lists that he should start holding Pre Trials. Hopefully this time he will.

Re: General question about Police radar conduct
guess a simple way to explain. And every motorist does it multiple times a day. While stopped to enter any highway (road/street etc..) you turn your head and look to check before safely proceeding to turn or go straight or whatever. Those vehicles you observed and had to wait for pass your location, you check again and proceed safely. Now next time ...

Well, the police usually hide when doing radar, they wouldn't catch many people of they sat in plain sight.

insurance card offence goes to the driver, even if owner is the passenger seat...as it is the driver who must surrender proof of valid insurance upon request of a police officer.
if a charge of "no insurance" would go to the owner, which is a summons, not a ticket

the ticket would not indicate a "warn".
The ticket would say a G2 licence holder, BAC above zero.
Now the suspension would vary pending on the result of the ASD (approved screening device) result

G2 with zero BAC has been in effect since the novice driver licences started, which was late 90's.
In August 2010 is when the zero BAC changed for drivers 21 and under regardless of class of licence
