Re: Left Turn when light turns, before letting oncoming traffic

Bookm...yeah, I'll take your word for it...I obviously wasn't there/don't even know what intersection that is!

I do not think one has to worry about this charge. The only way I can see it is during a collision, where witnesses say the car turning left, spun the tires/squealled and then struck and opposing vehicle...IMHO.

Re: Speed limits

Its all about revenue. .

Plus something that no one yet can answer or step up to the plate about....

If it is a revenue/tax grab....and you can avoid it....why don't you?
If you do not do the offence there is no money out of your pocket, pretty simple!

Always see the sold out Air Canada Centre for various events....now that is a revenue ...

Re: Left Turn when light turns, before letting oncoming traffic

Why have you made that assumption? You are wrong. The"camara car" has no advance green.

You show a video and ask an opinion and got one, so I am not wrong with what information that I can retrieve out of the video. If you are saying I'm wrong I need more information to clarify as I do not see any. Maybe go there and sit there and have the video ...

Is this turn subject to impoundment??

Well, what can I say, if everyone does it this way - great.
Out of these 500 a day would you say that there's a possibility of 1 mistake?
Also, would you stop that poor guy at 124 on a hwy and write him a ticket??

You already told us the reason for the stop...the muffler!

- none of those infractions carry demerit points.

- your name could be amended in court, if the officer has the correct spelling in their notes, ask for disclosure

Re: Careless driving as well as parking, standing signs

To request a trial you have to appear in person - why? - jsut so you don't request a trial, cheaper to just pay the ticket.

More and more courts are doing this...thumbs up to them. There is so much wasted time for people just checking the "not guilty, trial option". Courts then have to process paperwork, issuing officer has to submit notes...for ...

Re: Left Turn when light turns, before letting oncoming traffic

For these families, I'm sure no monetary penalty is much of a problem. But for for the REST of the province, it's bad.
Maybe that's another reason for the impound part? makes these others hurt as their ride is gone for 7 days? just a thought

It's funny to sit back and listen to friends just now starting to complain about the impound laws, and ...

Haha...my turn for the question..

I grew up in a structured family where you tell the truth, own up to your mistakes and take the consequences and move on.

Why are people not being forthright with the truth and accepting responsibility for their actions? Does not show a very good example to their children either...

Re: More than 100 Cars Crash in a Chain Reaction on Highway 400

Not necessarily speed was the cause in any pileups.

Easy one here to figure out......Driver's failing to adjust their driving habits for the weather conditions.

Driving Habits - slowing down, following distance, driving the vehicle beyond your capability, driving faster than one can clearly see a safe distance to stop

I see this all the time ...

The problem is that there is absolutely NO Driver training and the vehicles and highways have both improved. We all know that you can get a licence easily so, until that changes, we are stuck at the current limits. Re: Trial will not be processed

Once the provincial offence notice is issued the officer has 7 days to have it submitted to the courts. If it is not submitted within that time frame the charge is not processed and to my understanding that is someone did pay, they would be re-imbursed as the process was not complete.

Sometimes offence notices are misplaced during the shift, or ...

I believe the cash grab is the 50 over.

Again....answer the following then: "It IS the only tax/cash grab everyone can avoid by following the rules of the road. If you complain about something you can avoid..........try complaining and picketing something you can't avoid (ie gas prices, GST, PST etc..)"

Why didn't we just increase the fines ...

Re: Left Turn when light turns, before letting oncoming traffic

You're right DL. There are many "stunts" that aren't nearly as dangerous, such as running stop signs, running reds, etc. But our current government and OPP chief are on a blitz to ruin the lives of young people in this province and grab as much cash as they possibly can.

This is the only weird stunt one that I can find that probably was added ...

Re: Careless driving as well as parking, standing signs

Whether a vehicle is parked, standing, stopped or whatever the case may be and not in the designated painted lines (car parking stalls) it all comes down to common courtesy for other motorists.

Whether there are signs posted or not, where vehicles are intended to be in a moving motion it is rude and ignorant to just stop there for your ...
