demerit points are issued ONLY by the MTO upon a conviction..........the officer/prosecutor/court have no control over points

Re: Advice to presenting case
When disclosure comes, does it regularly show the distance that the reading was taken? And what about the procedures for using the laser-gun? Does there have to be some sort of "probable cause" (ie that car looks like it's speeding, so I will take a measurement) or can an arbitrary spot on the highway be blasted constantly?

Re: Advice to presenting case
I'm going to preface this with a little concern....I know that at least one moderator on this forum is likely a co-worker of the officer who tagged me. I'm hoping that by being involved here, this moderator is already acting unbiased towards incidents he/she is not directly involved in. Also hoping that the moderator is not this officer in ...

the regulation pertaining to logs also has:

- adverse weather conditions a driver may increase the driving time permitted ...

Re: 140kph on 401 rear facing radar question
rear antenna radar has been around for a long time. All OPP cars I have seen have both front and rear antenna, both accurate and therefore can easily obtain a speed of a vehicle catching up to the cruiser from behind.

Re: $400 ticket for driving comercial vehicle after 16 hr el
The maximum you can drive in one day is 13 hours.
The maximum total on-duty time in one day is 14 hours.
Therefore you should have stopped driving 1hr 50min prior to even reaching that construction zone.

Might want to double check that...what you describe happens when no approaching(oncoming) is also turning left.jatt03 wrote:I went back and video taped it the lights are green when the arrow turns on and remain green even after the left turn arrow disappears, so i don't see any way of me receiving a failed to stop at red ticket.

plus that "stop here on red signal" is often the location where the sensors are placed under the pavement to activate the changing of the lightsRadar Identified wrote:The "Stop Here On Red Signal" takes the place of a stop line (or reminds people "STOP HERE"). Re: NEED HELP - Stunt charge - Some initial questions please
Usually 1st appearance for summons is pretty much same as a regular PON (provincial offence notice) aka ticket, except the difference is that there is no out of court settlement, but rather all done within the court.

you are reading a USA manual if you see MPH and is not applicable to canada
The unit is the unit. It will not be more or less accurate whether you are north or south of the border. 1 mph = 1.6 kmh. The accuracy is the accuracy, whatever it may be.

Re: clocked from within the vehicle?
Some questions I have/arguments I would like to use when fighting the ticket:
1) Is it appropriate for the officer to clock me from within his vehicle which is facing the same direction as my traveling vehicle, all windows up? (i.e. radar guns operated through glass?)... or is it possible there was an exterior mounted gun on the car (pointing ...

What you describe is a CVIR (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Report) Level 2 Inspection. The codes are for particular problems with the truck. The complete CVIR gets "logged" or "added" to the CVOR (Commercial Vehicle Operator Registration) number for the company that owns the truck. The codes /violations are also added onto the company's CVOR record ...
