Re: Meeting with the prosecutor tomorrow, need help ASAP!

An unusual phone call from family that lives half way across the globe wouldn't be considered as an emergency.

Picking up the phone to dial 911 would be an emergency. In which case, the officer would obviously be made aware of an active emergency.

If your goal is to just have your fine reduced, it's best not to be too defensive during a ...

Re: Police Entrapment

The car in front of you was driving practically at the speed limit (80km) by your own admission. You had been accustomed to a higher speed and decided to make the pass. Already, you're speeding making that pass. There's no allowance for speeding while making a pass in Ontario. No one put you in that position. Now lets pretend you couldn't pass the ...

I don't know if a simple fine like that will hit my insurance. I still have a conviction - but a far lesser charge that carries no points. So we will see. Enjoy the weekend!

Your insurance provider doesn't base its surcharge percentages off of how many demerit points a charge has. It just so happens that more serious charges tend to come with ...

Failing to stop for a red light is an absolute liability offense. That means you either stopped for the red light or you didn't. That will be the basis of your trial. Either one or the other.

Keep that in mind as you progress.

Your son wasn't arrested for stunt driving. For whatever reason, they felt the need to search the car. It sounds like for the officers safety and his own, they temporarily put him in the back of the cruiser and let him out as soon as they were done. No, it wont impact your border travels.

Your photo's weren't coming through so i've fixed them.

To answer your original question, an officer doesn't have to show you the reading on the side of the road. They will leave all the info in their notes and that's how it will be made available to you.

Your ticket was reduced from 31 over. Are you a fully licensed G driver or do you have a G1 ...

Red light camera tickets are glorified parking tickets. Other than having a lighter wallet, nothing else is going to come out of it. Try to have the fine reduced and move on.

It's hard to follow your vehicle situation.

If you've taken up residency in Ontario, you have 60 days to use your out of province license. If you're a visitor, you can use your license up to 90 days without having to do anything.

What is the situation with this car? Is it your car? Is it your parents car? Is it a car currently sitting in Ontario ...

There's no set fine for driving without insurance. There's a minimum and a maximum. Minimum I believe is something like $5,000 plus fees. Maximum is something like $25,000, suspension, and jail time.

For a first offense, it's more than likely he'd receive the bare minimum.

I don't know much about that process, unfortunately. You usually hear about cases dealing with accident benefits and stuff like that, rather than fault determination on your average accident.
