Re: Old Carriage Court Kitchener

Here's a sample of the Kitchener Parking Bylaw. Your ticket should have the exact bylaw number on it.

Method of Parking or Stopping

2. Method of Parking or Stopping

a) General
Unless otherwise prohibited or permitted in this by-law, no person shall park or stop a vehicle on any roadway except on the right side of the roadway, having regard to ...

Re: help - stunt driving/speeding - 56 over an 80 hwy

No, you're not going to jail. Yes, there's a possibility that they'll offer you a charge of 49km over.

However, do yourself a favor and drop this hill story. To say you let go of the gas, coasted, and your car catapulted from 80 to nearly 140... it's insulting. Not that it's a defense anyways.

Re: received Court Summons in ON, moved to BC

1) What type of documentation/note will a friend of mine need to represent me in the court as an agent?

Your friend can just bring a simple letter just in case, but they probably wont even need to use it. As long as they're not accepting money for services, it should be fine.

However, this is a pretty serious charge as far as traffic act ...

Re: What Can I say to the officer during a traffic stop

When can the officer ask you out of a vehicles though? Can he order you out if he does not like your attittude?

An officer can tell you to get out of your car for the purpose of checking for sobriety.

Another reason would be for the officers safety.

"Attitude" may not mean the same for you as it does for the officer. The officer may look at ...

Re: What Can I say to the officer during a traffic stop

This is the type of question that will send a topic into a never ending vortex. You're going to get a one or two wannabe freedom fighters in here and it'll never end....

Too many people look at this like "what can I do" instead of "what should I do".

I have a feeling there's a bit more to this story. Keep in mind the side of the road is not a ...

Re: U-turn Disobey sign - but not visible because of sunset?

I would disagree with your interpretation of the regulation. It's about putting signs behind a wall, tree, pole, etc. You can't place a sign to avoid glare at any given time. It's like putting your hands in front of your face and saying the sign isn't wasn't placed properly because you couldn't see it.

Glare in what way? Glare bouncing off the ...

Re: Received red light camera ticket

These are not impossible to beat, but would require hiring a paralegal AND hiring an expert witness that can testify about the problems with these device

Paralegals don't deal with red light tickets as is, let alone billing additional hours on top of that.

request a trial with the officer present.

What officer? No officer needs to be ...

Re: Received red light camera ticket

I don't know how strong my case is. I have never received any ticket and my driving record is clean.

Not to sound harsh, but driving oblivious is not a defense. Also, it's an absolute liability offense. That means you either did or didn't drive through the red light. There's no middle ground.

Luckily, red light camera tickets are glorified ...

Re: 130 in 100 zone, 5 hours away

- If I decide not to take whatever they offer at early resolution, does that mean they'll schedule a trial date at a future time, potentially months away? Or would it be the same day? Cornwall is a 5 hour drive away from where I live so this ticket is a huge pain.

Early resolution is an attempt to strike a deal between the parties and avoid ...

Re: Run in with a Cement Truck

Your ticket and your insurance fault are two different things. Your insurance is there to settle a financial dispute and has its own set of standards and practices. Your insurance provider uses the Fault Determination Rules .

No, being charged doesn't mean you're automatically on the hook financially. Although, they are going to be based off the ...

Yes, the cop did cut me a break from charging me for Stunt driving but are there other options to reduce the charge?

I dont know which option to choose from. Option 1 plead guilty and pay the fine, Option 2 meet with prosecutor or Option 3 go to Trial with possibility of amendment. My plan of action was to choose option 3, request disclosure and ...

New signs don't require notice.

However, there's nothing stopping you from attending an early resolution if that's your plan.
