I received a red light camera system offence offence notice which shows 2 pictures of my car proceeding thru the intersection .1st pic shows my car at the white line before the crosswalk when the light turned red for 0.3 secs and second picture shows my car clearing the intersection at 1.3 secs. The speed shown for my car on the notice was 55. The speed limit was 60. I was quite beside myself when I saw the ticket as I have never received any tickets in the past including speeding.I always comply with the road regulations. I am trying to figure out why/how this would have happened.I would never go through red lights. Should I fight this or pay the $180 ?The notice says no demerit points or license suspension. The sub-section quoted is 144 (18.1). Will my insurance go up ?

Your insurance will not go up, because this type of offence does not go on your driver record and they don't have access to information on these types of "photographed" charges (photo radar, red light camera). You are being charged as the vehicle owner.

So I guess I would need to go to trial for this in order to get a plea bargain .How long does that take usually ? If I see the JP and plead guilty before the 15 days ,would I be able to obtain a reduced fine. How does that work ? Good to know my insurance won't be affected.

I received a warning letter from MTO for a 2pts ticket. What happened is that the police officer issued a "unsafe left turn" and then changed the ticket to "failed to signal" at the scene, but she submitted both tickets!!! And I !!!ONLY!!! received the latter ticket from her(I requested trial for…
Recently received a 4 demerit point speeding ticket for going 71 in a 40 construction zone with workers. Cop lowered it to a single speeding ticket worth 4 demerit points. I was driving my parents' car and they were present with me but I am not insured under the vehicle's policy. I will fight the…
I was going at about 110 on the high way on the left lane, and there was a car in front of me that I was following at about 5 seconds away. This is when I realized about 4 or 5 cars in front of me in the middle lane (lane to the right of my lane) there was a black highway cop car. My first…
I was recently given a speeding ticket by the CN Police for going 86 in 60. The officer wrote me a ticket. On the ticket, the address is incorrect, the spelling of the street it happened on is incorrect and he marked the wrong sex (Female instead of Male). Although non-fatal errors, that is 3 on 1…
In some cases, it takes too long for the Crown to bring a charge against a defendant to trial. If your charge has taken too long to come to trial, you can stop the proceedings by "filing an 11B." This is filing paperwork to bring a motion at your trial, where you essentially say, "my rights to a…

My life has been an emotional, personal and financial mess the last couple of years. I'm finally feeling functional enough to try and get things right but am not sure if it is possible or I have screwed up too much already to do so.
I had lost my insurance twice because I couldn't pay. Couldn't…
