Hello, I received a ticket for 136(1)(a) – Disobey Stop Sign in York Region and was looking for some support. I am planning to ask for a trial, request disclosure and see if they provide disclosure at all or what the disclosure says before deciding next steps. I have a question for those who may have more insight into best practices. When offered the option on the ticket for a video or in person trial, is one option more "speedy" than the other? I was wondering if in-person may be a longer process because it requires arranging scheduling all parties together in the same building and all other in-person trials? On the other hand, I was wondering if video trials are possibly a longer process because of the amount of people who likely choose this option and the delay to get them scheduled. From your experience, which one may be "quicker" to trial date and which may take longer. Thanks!
