In Mississauga today managed to see an OPP bicycle waiting on an off ramp?

What is the point of these really? Do they actually use them much.

Went by the detachment i must have seen the weirdest looking OPP vehicle ever.

It was a Huge White Honda Pilot 2006-2009 model.

It was a big white vehicle, it did have a light bar on the top (led one), and all it said in black letters on the hood was enforcement or something?

I have seen a marked F250 before doing radar/lidar but this takes the cake!!

I guess perhaps it was a "boss" or "supervisor" who gets this vehicle and happened to be at the detachment when i went buy it?

Do you mean a motorcycle? b/c I don't know what the hell you would use a bicycle for in the GTA.

White SUV, I'll guess is donated by a local dealership for the media officer to drive. OPP pays for all maintenance, the vehicle is pictured in many photos at all events and gives the dealership lots of advertising.

Our detachment media officer has an Chev HHR. Neighbouring office is a Buick Rendevouz and another a Ford Escape.

Bicycle cops are very common in Toronto. Less common, I don't know if they have them anymore, was rollerblade cops. All a fleeing suspect had to do was find some stairs.

Pearson Airport (Peel Regional Police) has segway cops.

My personal favourite is the mounted units but those guys NEVER scoop up afterwards!!!

I think tdrive means 'motorcycle' when he says 'bicycle'. That makes his 'bicycle spike strip' comment more understandable and less hilarious.

It is 100 % pure white with nothing to identify it as an OPP vehicle.

It has a LED light bar and it says "ENFORCEMENT" right above the grill.

I assumed it would be a supervisor car or a boss.

I know a guy with peel told me usually the bosses will have some sort of SUV, etc just to be special i guess

But there is many peel police cars that will specifically say "supervisor" on them to.

I never see this with OPP HSD vehicles.

Pretty effective, too, in downtown. The traffic congestion is so heavy they have usually no problem catching up. I've seen them do traffic stops, a little out of the ordinary blowing the whistle, but it seems to work.
