I got a ticket and requested a court date, before the court date I ended up paying my ticket online (not sure if every court offers this). The court date was the 11th and today I get an email that my ticket was refunded and that my ticket was withdrawn? Any one know why this would happen? There was on problem on the ticket that an old friend of mine told me got him off a ticket but was told on this site that it wouldn't be a fatal error. Nothing in the mail, just 2 emails from the courts office.
Withdrawn ticket? Payed before court date, issued a refund.

Can you provide more details about the nature of the ticket, incident maybe?

Hi, last summer I was pulled over when I made a left turn from he middle lane at Harbor and Yonge Street (heading east on the Gardiner and taking the Yonge exit). I swear they nabbed about 10 people in 5 minutes. Anyways, I decided to challenge in court, my court date is in April and I have just…
How To Fight A No Seatbelt Ticket
The key ruling on fighting a seatbelt ticket is R. v. Kanda, 2008 and an example of it's application is R. v. Gupta, 2008.
In Kanda, the court established that this offence is a strict liability charge. In other words, you can offer a defence of due diligence. In Kanda the defendant explained the…
