orilliapacket.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=2158203
We have a steady police presence of 5 - 10 officers in the town at any given time.
Long story short I exercised my right to not talk to the police (I watch them beat the *EDIT* outta my brother and a…
Just wondering what you guys think of those HOV lanes.
Sure these lanes are faster then usual but i think they present a ton of problems, now the first thing i want to clear up is often we say speed is dangerous. Okay i can believe that depending on the context and situation its used in. But i think…
I heard somewhere that flashing your lights (i.e. clicking your high beams on and off) to warm drivers in the opposite direction of a speed trap is a violation of the highway traffic act.
Is this true ?
I was watching motoring 200X and they spoke about this, and accorinding to them, it is NOT illegal…
Mid July 2012 I was hit at 6pm by a drunk driver. That's when my hubby decided to tell me that he didn't take care of the insurance as he was supposed to. So, I got charged with driving without insurance. Car is in my name.
Inuries were minor - all of us had aches/pains, hubby had seatbelt burn…

Just wondering what this incident means...........
My wife got caught not making a full stop - no contest.
However, also got a "ticket" for failure to surrender card - but she did but it was expired.
She found the good card after that mistake and gave it to the officer.
However she still got a "ticket"…
I got a speeding ticket doing 75 in a 50 zone. There where vehicles all around my vehicle doing about the same speed. The road was 2 lanes in one direction and 2 lanes in the other direction. There was a vehicle beside mine, another behind that vehicle and a vehicle behind me, all moving above the…
Hi all,
Unfortunately I got a "Disobey Sign" ticket tonight in this weather for turning left at a no left turn intersection (Greenwood turning left onto O'Connor) and my question is if it is possible to fight this ticket successfully due to a variety of reasons.
First of all, since visibility was…

It depends on your insurance company, ibc faq brochure says that +1 to +49kph is considered a minor offence and +50kph is considered a major offence; your insurance company can rate speeds differently... there might be more information on your insurance policy.

Insurance company doesn't care about points because they don't use them. Generally, you'd want to avoid any 50 and plus conviction because the difference between 49 and 50 can be huge. As already pointed out, it will depend on your insurance company and your current record. Anything 49 and under and you'll typically be lumped in with your average speeding ticket. 50 and over and you'll be treated like everyone caught street racing/stunt driving and run the risk of being dropped completely from your current insurance company.
