Re: exceeding the limit by 42km/h on a 3 lane busy hwy with a police car mobile in collectors lane
I would certainly like to know how OPP radars work in a heavy traffic area with 3 lanes. The officer doesnt have eyes behind his head and it would surely take a highly skilled person to press and lock in a targeted speed and making sure that it was that vehicle travelling at the excess speed.
I think you're thinking it's something like Top Gun ...

Re: Non-Ontarian Licenses suspended in the Martimes and moved to Ontario
All provinces are apart of the Canadian Driver License Compact, which shares driving information across the country.
No province should issue you a license if you're suspended in another province.
You should probably contact your home province about the status of your license.

Re: Non-Ontarian Licenses suspended in the Martimes and moved to Ontario
If you have a license from another province (full license, not learners) for more than 2 years, you can exchange it for a full Ontario license. This means you will skip the graduated license program and receive a license after an eye exam.
However, the license needs to be valid. You cannot exchange a suspended or expired license.

Re: Towing company booted my car on private parking and released for 250+tax
Keep in mind this isn't going to be a Highway Traffic Act issue.
The province only recently started regulating the tow industry. It's under the Consumer Protection Act. It's not very thorough and the rules are basic meant for protecting people who are vulnerable after an accident. It's not going to cover a vehicle on private property.

Re: Insurance rates skyrocketting because of a failure to provide insurance slip
Failure to provide proof of insurance will indeed raise your rates if your provider chooses to do so. It falls into the minor bracket, meaning it's treated no different than your average speeding ticket or most tickets your average driver will encounter while driving.

Re: 57km/h in a 40km/h zone reduced to 55km/h options?
Your options are on your ticket.
Are you looking to go through the trial process?
Are you looking for an early resolution? Note, your ticket was already reduced to a no demerit bracket from a 3 point bracket. You're likely not to get any further reduction.
Are you a fully licensed driver? If so, the points are rather meaningless. They last 2 ...

Either pay it or don't pay it at this point.
The time for defending this charge was 11 years ago.
I don't know how you go about reopening a 11 year old ticket, but you usually have a limited amount of days (15) to file after you learn about a conviction (example: You filed for a trial, never heard back, and were convicted for not attending.) Your ...

Re: G2 driver single car owner failed to stop a school bus with red lights on and was about to stop
There was a similar thread here a couple days ago.
You can find your answers and more here.
Your answers were also in the old thread you bumped up here.
When not charged at the scene, the owner of the vehicle will likely be charged. That is if there is a charge to be laid. No, there are no demerit points if you are charged as the owner.

Re: FAILED TO STOP SCHOOL BUS / INSURANCE RATES / tickets
If she was reported by the the bus driver or witness, would she get a ticket in the mail or would the officer show up at her door?
They would show up to the address of the registered owner.
How long before receiving a ticket ?
Anywhere up to 6 months.
Also, would demerit points be involved ?
No, because they would likely charge the owner ...

Re: Caught running a red light by a red light camera, and going with option 2 for early resolution.
There is no answer. Every courthouse is different. It depends on scheduling. Expect to wait at least a month and beyond.
There isn't much to worry about. Red light camera tickets are glorified parking tickets. You pay them and forget about them. Expect to receive a deal where your fine is reduced. Most likely in the 50% range.

Re: Out of province suspension, Nova Scotian license
Ontario has a zero tolerance when it comes to alcohol for what would be considered a novice driver. That means you have to blow a zero.
The 3 day suspension you received is what's called an administrative suspension. You didn't blow over the legal limit, but in your case you're a novice driver.

Lots of people might think this is an easy question to answer, yet tons of official Ontario government websites and associations will give you different answers. So it's a good question.
Example, the Ministry of Transportation says " ... it's illegal to follow a fire vehicle or ambulance responding to a call, within 150 metres."
