Re: Got 4 tickets(Speeding, license , permit and vehicle validation)
Correction, your insurance may or may not use the sticker infraction against you. I couldn't give you a definitive answer on that particular charge.

Re: Got 4 tickets(Speeding, license , permit and vehicle validation)
You're required to surrender your government issued license on demand. The Highway Traffic Act does not list a copy as a suitable replacement.
As for the permit, the Highway Traffic Act states you have to provide "the permit for it or a true copy. So what exactly is a true copy? It depends how it's defined. I don't know the exact answer, but I'd ...

Re: Got a ticket for improper right turn
Whether the sign was new would be considered irrelevant. For arguments sake, every driving experience is new. There's new traffic, new construction, new conditions, etc.
Whether someone else made the same mistake would also be irrelevant. All it says is you're both eligible to be charged.
Sign position is at least an argument. For that you need ...

They don't have to tell you. It's also common that the officer may not even be there in the courtroom until they're needed (eg. someone requests to move forward with a trial.)
Trials are scheduled in blocks in built up areas. They may have 30 people scheduled into that block. Those who wish to accept a plea deal or just plead guilty will be dealt ...

Re: 40km over, Speeding 140km on 100km, 4 tickets.
The offered deal on trial date, would that be offered by a prosecutor like in option 2 - ER?
Yes, it's pretty much the same thing.
Will the trial date be automatically adjourned to another date or do I have to request it if I find the days between receiving disclosure to the trial date is not long enough?
You may have to request that ...

Re: 40km over, Speeding 140km on 100km, 4 tickets.
In terms of option 2 (meet prosecutor) or option 3 (Trial - intend to please not guilty), if I choose option 3 for my speeding ticket, would I be given disclosure and an offer by a prosecutor or clerk before I go into trial?
When you request a trial, you'll wait for your "Notice of Trial" in the mail. It'll give you the date and time. Usually ...

Re: Got a double whammy today! Driving home from work
The carbon is for you and the original will be filed with the courts.
Tickets can also be signed "electronically," meaning it's just the officers name typed out. That is also acceptable under the Provincials Act.
I haven't been keeping up with anything regarding the courts being opened or closed since covid started. Hopefully someone else can ...

Re: Got a double whammy today! Driving home from work
The ticket for the license is for not being able to surrender it upon immediate request. It doesn't mean you didn't have a license, it just means the officer asked for it and you couldn't provide it at that moment. Even if you end up finding it later, the charge would still be considered valid. Some people have the misconception that this is some ...

Unfortunately, it wont work.
If you graduate to a full license while waiting on a charge that occurred while driving as a novice, you will still be subject to the Novice Driving Sanctions if convicted.
It's still 30 days for the first offense and 90 days for the second. The only time this changes is on a third. If you graduate while sitting on a ...

Re: Options for speeding ticket received thru Auto-enforcement system
1.) Date of deemed service is - 4-Feb-21. Does it mean I have 15 days of time beyond 4-Feb to exercise the options provided?
The date given may be off a couple days either direction. I believe they just tack on a certain amount of days to account for the mail. But yes, that is the date you are assumed to have been served your ticket.

Re: Options for speeding ticket received thru Auto-enforcement system
These new photo radar tickets, much like red light camera tickets, can be considered glorified parking tickets.
They are sent to the owner of the car. They don't know who is driving nor do they necessarily care. If the you don't pay, you can't renew your stickers. That's pretty much it.
They do not impact insurance. The ticket follows the plates ...

Those aren't regulations. Those are guidelines from the Ontario Traffic Manual. "The purpose of the Ontario Traffic Manual (OTM) is to provide information and guidance for transportation practitioners."
Unless a certain guideline correlates to an actual regulation, its recommendations would be considered irrelevant. It's not legislation.

Re: Received 16-29 km/h ticket, the way the cop stopped me seemed incredibly unsafe
The way he did this, would there be any grounds for ticket being thrown out?
Officers stepping into the road to direct vehicles to pull over is a normal occurrence.
Even if you don't agree with the safety of it, it would be considered irrelevant to your charge.
At best, you are free to file a complaint and that would be a process completely ...

Re: WRPS Cherry pickin. Tagged 70 in a 50. No advance warning.
There is no warning sign at the speed limit is dropping by 30 km even though Ontario regulations specifically state 450 meters upstream there Has to be an advance warning when Dropping 20 km or more
May I ask where you saw this?
It's always been my understanding that "speed ahead" signs aren't regulated under OTA Regulation 615. Therefore ...

Should I be "Requesting an in person screening" or "Requesting an online screening" ? Those are the two options right now, also any advice on what to say in these explanations?
