Re: Emergency vehicles

Some said slow down like I did.
Some said keep the same speed.
And some said pull right (fatal here)

I think slow-down and stay in lane is best.

Cheers

Re: Emergency vehicles

The correct response on a multi-lane highway is to pull over to the nearest edge of the roadway.

159. (1) The driver of a vehicle, upon the approach of a police department vehicle with its bell or siren sounding or with its lamp producing intermittent flashes of red light or red and blue light, or upon the approach of an ambulance, fire ...

Re: Emergency vehicles

Passing on the right is VERY dangerous. They teach you at police college never to do it, but they hardly need to say that for obvious reasons: everybody is taught to move over to the right for emergency vehicles. That being said, my opinion is that the only thing likely to make officers drive that fast and dangerously (unthinkingly perhaps?) is ...

Emergency vehicles

I have driven about 4,000,000 kilometers in the last 40 years (motorcycle/car/van/semi)

The other day entering the 401 from salem road. I saw 3 OPP vehicles. (1 van type and 2 fords with big v8)
sitting at the top.(ready for something).(staging as I call it)

At that point you get up to speed at about Lakeridge road.

I just got to 100KPH then ...

Re: Going straight on RIGHT TURN lane:

My 2 cents.

People doing what you did are inconsiderate.
We follow the lane, wait for our turn, then you people want to but in.
I applaud the cop who took the time to ticket your wife.

Courtesy is needed to prevent ROAD-RAGE.

Thumbs Down

Re: Ticket for 3M from the Hydrant...but it is 5 meter actua

I believe there at least 5 sets of by-laws for this stuff in Toronto.
Another one is not to park 15 Meters from curb lane. (most paid parking things start closer then that)

Your idea makes sense ADMIN but the by-law may be different.

Re: Ticket for 3M from the Hydrant...but it is 5 meter actua

Take those pics to the ticket office (markham rd) early (8:45-9:15) or (5100 young) usually quick then.
They can cancel it right there with-out fight if there is an error.
Toronto by-laws are messed up due to the amalgamation.
Either place can dig up the by-law if there is one for you.

Worse case you ask for trial and wait a year to get it ...

Re: Bike Lanes Ticket in NYC

In Toronto the bike lane changes to a dotted line for cars to turn/use it.(at intersection)
The bicycle is supposed to stop but they rarely do.

Cheers

interesting why a bicycle would have to stop for a car that is actually coming into their lane, would have thought cars would have to change lane in safety and yield for the bicycle

What ...

Re: Charge Withdrawn - Success story

baseball - they can't change the result. Sure speed of pitches have lots of factors also, humidity, the 1st pitch and not warmed up, 110th pitch where running out of steam, 57th pitch where just didnt grip the ball just right or put the exact spin on the ball etc.. 80th pitch with all perfect technique etc

It is not the result I mean it is the ...

Re: Charge Withdrawn - Success story

My 2 cents:

Radar cops in Toronto have their gun pointed before the car comes.
I guess they visualize it through the lens.

I listen to and watch a lot of baseball games.

The announcers will say "the radar gun here is juiced"

With this they mean a pitchers throw speed is higher (or lower) in this park then what is shown on the radar gun.

I don ...

Re: Officer parked in no parking spot, and they do that

I was charged for not stopping completely at a T intersection, the officer was parked in no parking spot that if I was turning left and a car was coming from behind the officer there would not be room for three vehicles. This was in the downtown area, 11.45 p.m. there are high buildings and you need to be close to the to see traffic ,but was still ...

Re: HTA 75(1) enforcement

The noise is for safety.

Ahhh then I should wire up a truck air horn to the ignition switch in my car? Everyone deserves to be safe so then we should all do it? Turn key on - air horn starts blaring. No more collisions! That's an excellent idea Viper. Actually it's DEFENSIVE DRIVING that prevents collisions not noise bullying everyone out of ...
