Re: Plead guilty or trial?

But even so I thought they had some way on their onboard computers to see if you have legit insurance, paper or not.

Our whole office has the insurance info on the laptop in the cruiser, however, the driver still has to surrender a proper legitimate insurance card.

Best would be to have the insurance "live" with the MTO like other provinces. As ...

A good reference is to use the number 15, which is an average for all persons and alcohol. Every drink consumed adds in 15mgs of alcohol, however there are variables for that such as light, normal high test beers - was it actually one measured ounce of liquor etc..
Every hour the body eliminates 15mgs of alcohol.

Agree with Admin and RI.

Pay the amount owing. Fail to do so could result in a collection agency being asigned to collect the funds, which of course then probably flags your credit rating negatively.

Then use proper channels to get reimbursed: LSUC or civil court

HTA 611 is what is required for vehicle safeties, so I will just throw this out there...so either the officer would lay an "unsafe vehicle" charge, seize the plates, tow the vehicle OR choose to issue a muffler offence.

Thanks Biron,

I think my knowledge of the HTA and Regs comes from doing strictly traffic for over a decade. When I find a situation I look it up. Great ideas....plus we jointly re-write the HTA to make sense

- In addition to a "pay tickets" website, create a "fight tickets" website so paperwork only needs to be filed on-line

Only point I disagree with is the above and it is not the ease of challenging the offence. There has to be some penalty, say $250-500 added to the fine for a "no ...

No doubt that some people within the Crown Prosecutor's office (and possibly the Ministry of the Attorney General) had a cow when the JP ruled in mdevo's favour and word got out. Also, I'd be willing to bet a few people who fight traffic tickets for a living may be quite interested in this particular outcome.

It could make burden of proof for ...
