Re: HTA s.199 - Duty to Report Accident

Fail to report has to involve a collision, injury or damge over $1000

Obviously the other driver will have to be there. Only thing I can think of is the other driver brings in a collision estimate/bill over $1000, which should be in disclosure?

I'm curious, what type of green light were you at?
(ie: advance flashing green, green arrow or solid green)

What direction was the bicycle travelling in relation to you, prior to the turn?

Police do not use radar detectors

HTA OREG 607. Ontario does not have a recipricol agreement with California, however a collection agency could be notified should the fine not be paid.

Now I'm going to fight this because I'm 22, and own 2 sports cars(that I have never been ticketed in )I don't my insurance to go up, and personally, this had nothing to do with safety, it was purely a cash grab. IMO.

[From what I see, it was not a cautioned statement, and therefore cannot be admitted as evidence at trial.

Whether under caution or not, a statement could still be used in court as evidence, as I have used it many times. What happens is we go into a "voir dire" (a trial within a trial) to determine how and what context the statement was made. If ...

The calibration mentioned in the disclosure makes that point clear. If it is not necessary to calibrate the device, why was it then calibrated in the first place?
To ensure the unit is functioning properly after being made or after a repair. The officers then follow testing procedures to ensure the unit is functioning properly, if it should fail ...

1) Can a car doing a "Pittsburgh Left" be charged with street racing? and if someone was to go on the green light and hit the car doing the "Pittsburgh Left", who would be at fault? A Pittsburgh left is when a car doing a left hand turn races to beat the cars going straight after the lights turn green.

Unless you are target specific in a certain part of law, or specialty you will never know what is what (not being rude, it is a fact). I happen to specialize solely in traffic, so my knowledge is higher than say a detective. But on that same token, their expertise in crime is higher than mine. There are thousands of acts and laws. I have passed many radar cops parked with their radar on.
You do not know when and if radar is on. Officers could be doing notes, using an onboard computer, waiting for a vehicle from a driving complaint etc..

After I passed them, I drove, in my opinion, just long enough for him to find out we were from just outside of Windsor.
A huge majority ...

I check a lot of plates and if the owner of any vehicle is "unlicenced" or an "improper licence class" I will be conducting a stop to check the licence status of whoever is driving, whether it is a 16yr old or 70 yr old.

I would recommend installing a "main" kill switch for the lights in the trunk too. That way the lights are guaranteed to remain off until at the display. Last you would need is someone saying your lights were on and you get stopped. I would not even drive in a parking lot with the lights activated, again all you need is someone to complain and you ...
