Re: Eventual law could affect all kinds of gadgets

This is gonna' irk a few readers here,... but, ya' know, I think the drive-thru line at the local Tim Horton's is one of the most dangerous systems out there. Just try watching people trying to drive down the road immediately after leaving the exit. They're trying to pocket their change, get a quick sip of their coffee, and juggle whatever pastry ...

Re: Know any funny Traffic related Jokes? Post them here!

A truck driver was driving along on the freeway. A sign comes up that reads, 'Low Bridge overhead.' Before he knows it, the bridge is right ahead of him and he gets stuck under the bridge. Cars are backed up for miles. Finally, a police car comes up. The cop gets out of his
car and walks to the truck driver, puts his hands on his hips and says ...

Re: Know any funny Traffic related Jokes? Post them here!

The cop got out of his car and the kid who was stopped for speeding rolled down his window. 'I've been waiting for you all day,' the cop said.

The kid replied, 'Yeah, well I got here as fast as I could.' When the cop finally stopped laughing, he sent the kid on his way without a ticket.

Re: Turning Right on a Red light 144.18

I'm turning right on a Red unless there's a sign specifically stating not to.
just don't whine to the rest of us IF you should ever get a ticket then...you are now well informed!! :)

I'm not sure if disobeying it would be an HTA offence or it it's just a city by-law. Most cars ignore it and turn.
HTA charge with 2 demerit points = Disobey sign ...

Pet peeve #2: Cutters.
You can't head them off up the line because, for one thing, HTA OREG 455/07, 8, i, now defines as "Stunt Driving": "driving a motor vehicle in a manner that indicates an intention to prevent another vehicle from passing." So moving to the left somewhere back up the line to stop the bastard (or the bitch) from going by is a ...

Re: Turning Right on a Red light 144.18

No, you can still turn right as long as you have an empty lane to turn into.

This is very interesting to say the least. I would say no one can turn right on the red in this instance, b/c the section read "may proceed ONLY to follow the direction shown by the arrow". Making the turn on the red, would not be following the direction shown by the ...

Re: Turning Right on a Red light 144.18

Here is another section that you were in violation of:
HTA 144 (14) Green Arrow - Every driver approaching a traffic control signal showing one or more green arrow indications only OR in combination with a circular red or circular amber indication and facing the indication may proceed ONLY to follow the direction shown by the arrow.

Re: Street racing?

FANTINO did NOT create the law, he just supports it and is vocal about the law, that is it. The politicians created, worded and passed the law.....Blame it on them! Go sit on the lawn at parliament or whatever.Target the politicians that put the "impoundment" part into law if that is the big concern.

Only ones concerned are the ones not following ...

Law does not state there has to be an "emergency".

It states that an "Emergency Vehicle" be stopped on the shoulder producing intermittent red or red/blue flashes of light.

Re: Correction for posting, is this law 6 years old

Perhaps the solution is to just drive FAST in the fast lane (left lane) all the time!. The speeding ticket would likely be cheaper then the mover-over ticket.

Not so...still $490 for failing to slow down!

Perhaps what the people in the middle lane were being stopped for. Not only does a MV have to move over it must slow down, if the officer was ...
