You can visit the provincial offenses court and ask for more information. There are payment plans available.
You'll pay a portion of the fine upfront and then continue paying on an agreed upon monthly amount.
Unfortunately, I don't believe they'll be able to help you in regards to the total fine amount.

Re: Went through intersection I wasn't supposed to
You never mentioned what exactly you were charged with.
I really rather would not pay or have demerit points added.
Ticket forgiveness isn't really a thing being offered for disobeying signage.
If you don't want to pay, you can request a trial. From there you can put together a proper defense for the charge (unfamiliarity is not a defense) or ...

Re: Got three tickets at once.
It's important to realize that the tickets for the insurance and permit are for not being able to surrender them upon request. The officer isn't saying you don't have insurance or that you don't have a copy of your permit. What the ticket basically means is that you were asked for these documents and you couldn't provide them then and there, which ...

Re: Highway traffic 159(3) ticket. Move over for emergency vehicles
Can I fight or hire a paralegal ?
You're certainly within your rights to request a trial. If you wish to hire a paralegal, that's also up to you to decide.
The "move over" law states:
(3) Upon approaching an emergency vehicle with its lamp producing intermittent flashes of red light or red and blue light or a tow truck with its lamp ...

Re: Stunt driving ticket for lane change without signaling
Stunt driving covers a lot of different scenarios. Although, 50+km is probably what it's most known for. You can click here for the full regulation.
I'm assuming the officer is going by either one of these, justified or not:
8. Driving a motor vehicle without due care and attention, without reasonable consideration for other persons using the ...

Re: Got a ticket for no muffler. But I have a muffler.
This particular charge is not exactly clear cut. It's open to some interpretation and that's probably done purposely to give officers some leeway. It's not a charge where it's either you had a muffler or not.

Re: License suspension appears on abstract even after charges dropped
That's what they call an "administrative suspension."
There are multiple ways you can receive one. Stunt driving is one and something completely different like a medical issue can be another.
It's not an indication that you've been convicted of anything.
Unfortunately, it's not a mistake and it wont be going away.
The good news is that ...

Re: Reciprocal Agreement between Ontario and Michigan
Accidents don't show up on your Ontario abstract (aka driving record). If you've been charged and convicted with something related to the accident, that will show up (eg. following too closely, careless driving, etc). Not all laws correlate from province to state, so only a select set of laws are included in a reciprocal agreement.

Re: 156km/h reduced to 149km/h on the spot in 100 km zone
Insurance providers put all offenses in three different categories. Those are minor, major, and serious.
Example:
Minor - "Speeding - any type, except when listed as major or
serious"
Major - "Improper passing/speeding in a school or playground zone"
Serious - "Speeding 50 kph or more over the speed limit"
Minor offenses are your everyday ...

Re: Red light camera flashed while sitting at light.
The way these cameras work is that they take two photos back to back.
The first photo will show the vehicle right before the line and the traffic light. The purpose of this photo is to show that the light was already red before the vehicle passes any marked lines.
The second photo will show the vehicle in the intersection. The purpose of this ...

Re: Red light camera flashed while sitting at light.
These cameras don't activate under a certain speed threshold as far as I know. It's something like 20km.
Were there any other vehicles? It's normal for these cameras to go off for vehicles making a right hand turn without stopping also.

Re: First time speeding offence under a parent's car
You received an automated speed enforcement camera charge. It's a glorified parking ticket so you can pretty much treat it like one.
There are no points, no insurance implications, nothing. The ticket doesn't follow a license since they don't know who was driving.
Pay it or ask for an early resolution. With an early resolution, you might save a ...

My husband and I were chatting back and forth and it's a route I know well so can I say with 100% certainty that my van came to a "full and complete stop"? No. My husband, however, says that I did. I also use Onlia which didn't "ding" me at that corner for a non-stop either.

Re: Front License Plate Location (relocate )
It has to be in a conspicuous position on the front and rear. It doesn't exactly say it has to be centered. Some vehicles, especially with a rear mounted tire, will come from the factory with a rear plate to the side. Examples include a new Jeep Wrangler, late model Jeep Liberty, new Ford Bronco, late model Honda CRV, etc
