Re: Hey, Urgent help required? Regarding prosecutor plea deal.
Does anyone has any clue that is this true?? HTA 170(12) Parking on roadway interfere with traffic is actually a bylaw and does not show on abstract.
Well no, you're still being charged under the Highway Traffic Act. I think I get what you're saying, which is probably something like:
"Is this charge the equivalent of a municipal bylaw ...

Re: Might have passed bus
The bus driver would file a report. They do it all the time. The province provides them with a form specifically for them.
If the bus hadn't stopped and the driver was aware of this, they wouldn't file a report anyways.
A lot of municipalities are also now starting to retrofit their buses with cameras for this very purpose.

Re: Might have passed bus
Their version may vary from your own.
The bus would, at the very least, need to come to a stop.
Yes, it's possible they'll charge whoever the owner of the vehicle is. That may or may not be you, but a ticket could be issued.
It's extremely common.

Re: Accessible parking permit-court summons-HELP!
If the spot was marked according to the regulations , there's not much you can do.
Obviously, the permit was not issued to you. The only other defense would be that as the driver, the vehicle is being used to pick up or transport the holder of the permit. Since the permit holder was not there, you don't really have anything in terms of a defense ...

Re: Ticketed as Owner NOT Driver (Passing School Bus)
If you're charged as the owner, the ticket follows your plate. They don't know who was driving nor would they need to in this particular scenario. If you manage to still owe money on it, they'll usually get you when you need to renew your stickers.
Your more common HTA ticket follows your license number. If you don't pay, they'll be able to ...

Re: Stunt Driving - Did not get good offer from Prosecutor
In terms of speed, stunt driving is no longer limited to 50km+.
7. Driving a motor vehicle at a rate of speed that is 40 kilometres per hour or more over the speed limit, if the speed limit is less than 80 kilometres per hour.
Since you were in a 50, anything 90+ would be considered stunt driving.

"Novice drivers with licences that would have expired between March 1, 2020, and December 31, 2022, will have until December 31, 2022, to complete testing to maintain or upgrade their licence."
It's possible they may have extended the three years also, but I can't give you an answer to that. You can ask at a Drivetest Centre.

If you apply within 3 years of your G2 license expiring, you can go through the process without waiting the mandatory waiting periods between moving up a class. (8 or 12 months for G1, 12 months for G2). How quick you get your license would only really depend on the nearest available test date.

Re: Stunt Driving low 150s in 100 km/hour zone; not sure what to do
I'm assuming this was recent.
Stunt driving today is not the same as it was just some months ago. The laws have changed recently.
Administrative (roadside) suspension has increased from 7 days to 30 days.
Impound increased from 7 days to 14 days.
The biggest issue back then was insurance. Automatic 100% increase if they don't boot you first ...

Re: Got caught speeding - best option to move forward?
Impact on insurance is going to be the same whether its 15, 29, or 31.
Insurance providers don't calculate per km. It's all the same until you hit 50+.
They also don't care about points. Only the ministry uses points. Unless you're still a novice driver without a full license , points really don't matter all that much to begin with. They're ...

Speeding (Automated Speed Enforcement aka 'photo radar')
Red Light (Red Light Camera System)
There is also failing to stop for a school bus which wouldn't necessarily be mailed, but could be issued to the owner with no need to identify the driver.

Did you come to a complete stop?
If so, it's not illegal. If there is no barrier being used, you'd make a complete stop and proceed as long as it is safe to do so.
If you didn't stop, you weren't pulled over at the scene anyways. They're not pursuing this after the fact. It's not realistic. If you're being mailed a ticket, it's because you're ...
