Re: Representative?
It shouldn't be an issue for you to represent her, you'll just have to show it's with her permission. Either she'll need to attend to verify that or you'll want some kind of signed note from your wife authorizing you to act on her behalf.

Re: Parking ticket for expired plate sticker
I would say yes, you have a defence. You should have gotten an extended validation receipt when you purchased the stickers online. Your plates were valid, but unfortunately without the sticker the bylaw officer wouldn't know that. I'd try going to the local bylaw office and showing them the receipt (which should be dated before the ticket). I would ...

Re: Warning for careless, How long on record for?
The MTO does use a confusing three letter short form in place of the proper vehicle model names. Sometimes it makes sense and sometimes it seems entirely random. The code will also vary depending on whether you have the base model or high end version. I remember the base 4-cylinder Pontiac Grand Am had the code "SE1" whereas the V6 model was ...

Re: Plead guilty when not. Can I appeal?
I'd start with the abstract. A certified 10 year abstract is only $18 and will answer your question pretty quick. No sense spending hundreds of dollars on transcripts needlessly.

Re: Plead guilty when not. Can I appeal?
As suggested above, you really need to start by confirming if you were actually suspended or not. Id suggest going to the Ministry of Transportation and ordering a copy of your driving abstract. Your outstanding fines may not be an accurate reflection of your licence status, etc. It doesnt really make sense that your suspension would have been ...

Re: 57 or 58km/hr in 40 zone & Insurance Card Tickets
For those in the know, I am wondering why the electronic copy of the insurance card that the OP presented to the officer was considered inadequate? Is there a regulation somewhere that says insurance cards can't be sent electronically and then printed at home?
The way the section reads I would say originals are still required.

Re: Electronically printed Certificate of Offence
As OPS stated, nothing is actually filed by the officer anymore. The e-ticket is submitted electronically to the courts. The only thing the officer needs to print is a copy of the ticket to serve the defendent.
While I can't speak to whether the officer printed out something extra or redundant with your ticket, it won't unfortunately prevent it ...

Re: disobey stop sign - officer don't have a clear view
Typically the plea deal will still be offered on the day of your trial but there's no guarantee. Once you start your trial however, the plea deal is no longer an option. So if the Justice of the Peace finds you guilty, you can't suddenly take the deal to the lesser offence.

Re: Challenging Legal Basis of Red Light Cameras
Legally, the officer should be present in the intersection directing traffic. And if that's the case, they should be visible in the photo and no charge laid. The problem seems to mainly arise on unescorted processions, where courteous motorists simply wait and let people through. I'm not sure how much luck you'd have getting the charge withdrawn in ...

Re: 114km/h in a 80km/h Zone
You'd have to contact State Farm and see what they consider to be a minor versus major speeding ticket. I've never heard of anything under 35 being considered a major offence so you're probably safe in that respect. You're correct though that New York and Ontario share convictions, so if the MTO was notified by NY, you'll see an out of Province ...

Re: Not paying
Just to clarify, what do you mean by out of town? And if you're asking about another Province are you talking about photo radar or a regular ticket where you were charged as the driver?
