I meant to post that spot in frequent radar spots.
I forgot.
It is something to see 8-10 people pulled over then drive another mile and still see another cop.
It is air radar there.
The first time I saw it I didn't think there were that many opp anywhere.

Re: Digital Scanners
The analog will travel about 20 miles.
The problem is is that you scan 5-10,000 channels it stops on every connection and the case of the digital channels it is just loud noise.
when you get a clear voice you save that channel.
sooner or later you can find all the weather channels.

I was just wondering would it be illegal to use a device like this while operating a motor vehicle?
Uniden sells many digital Scanners in which you can listen to OPP or any other police force, ems, etc (channels are on the net to listen to)

Re: Parking in Fire Route... Apparently
My boyfriend got a ticket for parking in a fire route...apparently. The reason I say that is becuase there were no signs on the side of the road he parked on that read "Fire Route", or any other sign for that matter.
As far as I know, the route is the side of the street the sign is on. I srtated reading the HTA, but couldnt find the info.

Unfortunately, this modern era of policing seems to associate performance with number of tickets written.
I have never been told to write any more or less tickets. Nor have I seen anyone with a handful of tickets for a month get bothered either.
I think the police strategy has become: write multiple tickets so that the crown will negotiate down ...

Plates - they are required to be attached on the front and rear of the vehicle, not just be visible from the front and rear. Thus, you can only attach your rear plates to your rear bumper or tailgate.
Bulbs - as Bear has pointed out, front turn signals may only be amber. Trying to be as visible as possible is missing the point. The reflectors are ...

Well someone going that speed on the 401 really should not be on it and should have taken another road. I would just drive by what can you. You could call *OPP but i would only call that for very dangerous situations. Sometimes i will just flash my lights but they get mad.

Interesting with the lights.
We had a discussion about HID's before.
All i think was said was headlights must emit white light.
I guess it depends on the officer but some of those people with weird color lights (purple, pure yellow, green, etc) are very annoying and distracting.
Or those that use HID's in a reflector system!

Was the intent of "proceed only in the direction of the arrow" not written in there to prevent drivers from seeing the arrow but proceeding straight through, "disobeying the arrow," so to speak?

Ya i have seen a guy try to run once about 2 years ago.
I guess he was on the 407 and going a little to fast it was pretty nice weather and hot outside he must have been going a bit over 150 and wanted to take the risk.
I saw the cop and i dont think he saw her until she had her lights on then she was way behind about 10-20 cars and he stalled ...

Yes, your correct. Once I receive disclosure and obtain the name of the witness who took this aggressive pursuit against me, I will formalize a complaint to the OPP for his own careless driving behaviour.
And how else would you suggest a police officer catch any vehicle without being aggressive?

The problem is that the insurance companies don't really care about ending fraud. The more claims there are the more money they can make. Let's say they're regulated to a 10% profit margin on premiums.. So if there's 50b in claims, they can make 5b in profit. If there's 150b in claims, they can make 15b in profit. That's why they are also willing ...

I am doing some independent research on Bill 117 and heard that there already is a piece of legislation where a motorcycle passenger has to be able to reach the pegs. A search of the HTA yielded no results for me. Does anyone know the specific act/section in question?
I would go with common sense.
