Re: Allen road and Eglinton Ave. - No right turn on Red Light???
Just a side note related but not to this particular situation.
If stopped at a red light, and then a green arrow appears to turn left....no motor vehicle can make a turn to the right while the red is showing.
Just and FYI I don't think I would interpret it that way. Did you experience a ruling recently??

When I was in Manhatten I was amazed, everybody slows down or practically stops at green lights. I guess they're too scared to hit wayward pedestrians and deal with the lawsuit that follows.

Re: NOTICE of SUSPENSION OF DRIVERS LICENCE
This is conjecture on my part but likely your licence was suspended and you got a notice in the mail from MTO. They would have sent it to the address on your driver's licence. The letter was likely returned and they could not find you. The officer DID find you and handed you the notice. You were actually lucky because if you were driving and they ...

I remember a 20/20 show years ago that showed how F-15 fighter pilots were trained and how dangerous it could be. Sometimes they would pass out from the G-force. One interesting thing was the low altitude warning was a woman's voice. An Air Force study found that fighter pilots responded better to a woman's voice than a man's.

Anyways our low speed limit is making lane discipline hell.

If the ticket is quashed you will never here about it again. If the JP is not on the ball and convicts you, you will get a notice of conviction in the mail demanding you pay the fine. You have 15 days from that point to file an appeal. (you will also have to pay the fine or apply to the court to suspend the fine pending appeal.)

I'm assuming you got the summons as a company director and the company was charged?
You are going to have to show a lot of diligence on this one. How did the driver get the keys and make it out of the yard? Or put another way, what steps did the company take to make sure an unplated truck could not be driven?

There's a seatbelt safety blitz going on right now. Taxi drivers are exempt but not their passengers. There is an exemption for medical reasons under s. 106(6). It's probably your best bet to explore this.
A passenger not wearing a seatbelt does not affect your driving record and their are no demerit points.

Not weird. Some prosecutors and even some JPs help people by pointing out that there are truly good lawyers and paralegals that the court is very familiar with.
You got some great free advice from the lawyer. Consider following it.

If you are fighting your ticket, you can request all this information through disclosure (and avoid the fee!)
Or you can contact your insurance company, if you went through them, to see what information they have.

Squishy i am going to have to agree with you on that.
As far as gas prices go even if the highways didn't have a limit like the autobahn system there is no way i would max it out all the time.
The gas begins to cost way to much at speeds like that. Even if we had no speed limits many would not "max out" due to gas prices and costs.

Just a couple of points I want to clarify. First there is no 3 second rule, that was something your driving instructor used to convince you to come to a complete stop.
Second, there are two elements to stopping. First come to a complete stop and second, proceed with caution. Just because you stopped does not give you right of way.
