I'm sorry, and I don't mean to be rude but SERIOUSLY, are you stupid?
You where SPEEDING and you admit that you where, why in God's name do you speed when there is a Police car right next to you.
If you do 101k's you are SPEEDING, whether you get a ticket or not is another matter.

Tickets/points may clear up in the eyes of the law, but insurance wants your driving history over the past 5 years.

hmmmm.....
(back home and even here) I always try and get outta the way for an EV, that is SAFELY, I don't swerve recklessly nor mount curbs at speed.
One day that EV could be coming to save my life or wife or daughters.

Actually what that biker is a douche and what he is doing in the video is illegal (at least in the UK)
I know people who do that, and I've seen cars CUT up people who do.
Your not supposed to follow an emergency vehicle like that, in the UK its a fine and points,

BUt it sounded like that vid was in Australia

ok maybe clear up a few things for me pls RI
OK lets say I have no car, no insurance.
1)IF my wife has a car fully insured in her name and I drive it. obviously, husband/wife living in the same house, she does/doesnt need to inform her insurance.

All I have to add, is that
1) after my speeding ticket, I drove the speed limit, for about a month, then realized that my journey time to work increased two fold, and I experienced the same thing. I did resort to brake checking, but under advisement, have stopped, just in case I get a unmarked or on dash cam.

txs RI,
I'm liking this version of it better, i.e. the "upper speed limit" is the 120, as opposed to in the UK< where the already 70 was the upper limit
coolski !
The long and short of it is, we'll have to see how this one plays out. The provision is there now, it may be used or it may not. Quebec was going to test variable speed limits, which ...

License plate sticker - questions
hi,
a couple of questions
I'm looking at buying a car and was trying to drag out the sticker so I would not have to renew it ! :(
So, on my existing licence plate, I was wondering the "best way" to go about this process.
(not sure If I'm going to trade-in/sell before/after getting the car
1) Can I just transfer my existing plate to the new car ...

the only tickets I agree with 100% is RED LIGHT ones.
**UNLESS** it was faulty, IF YOU went through a red light camera you deserve everything you get, a car could have been coming the other way
sorry, IMHO the fine is fair enough and IMO shouldn't be able to be reduced.

hey txs for your POV
That may have been the case in the UK however in Germany and Switzerland (where I've spent a great deal of time) it works really well. They use it to slow people down before they start running in to heavy congestion, or when it is raining/snowing/etc.
and yes that was the argument when they introduced it into the UK, but ...

I would respectfully disagree,
this was brought in to the UK (when I was there) about 5-6 years ago and is a pile of junk.
on the M25, on certain stretches, they have a variable speed limit. usually on the motorway it's 70mph, (though most people conservatively do up to about 80) on busy days, they change it to say 50,

In my experience when I went in, the pros. actually asked me what happened and was ok with my giving "excuse" and actually argued (nicely), a counter statement, I still got talked down to a lesser offence.
But you could get lucky, I've read on here, that in some cases its a good idea to go to an ER as they can do things,

Hi guy's
I am seeing different POV and answers via google regarding informing insurance of tickets.
So, from the best part it is said that you do not tell the insurance if you have a ticket because on renewal they should pull up your abstract and it will show any tickets.
Likewise a lot of people keep "schtum" on renewal and try not to talk to ...
