Failing to stop for a red light is an absolute liability offence anyhow. The Court is only interested in whether you stopped or not, not the reasoning behind ...

Re: Speeding Tickets Effects on Insurance
Hey Bend,
I actually wrote off my car a couple of months ago and they paid up.
we have 2 cars; my car I am primary and wife secondary; wifes car she is primary and I am secondary
my wife has "incidents" and me too, actually I think the policy is under her name, because the discounts are under her company.
We where told multiple times on several ...

Re: Speeding Tickets Effects on Insurance
only what I've been told by my insurance,
me and wife drive each others car and live in same house,
my tickets don't effect wife and wife's ticket don't effect me
"whether" they do real world is another story but that's what Meloche Monnex advised me

Re: First Speed Ticket Reduced to 15km
it does depend on insurance companies,
but GENERALLY anything upto 50km will be a minor infraction,
so any penality will be the same if it 10 over 15 over or 30 over
You can ring your insurance company and ask, or get somone to ring and ask an anonymous question
If its TD (meloche Monnex) this information is correct
the issue IS that a ...

Re: Can I get charged by OPP on this?
I just called my insurance company and they told me the accident is at my fault. It does not matter even if my tire broke down because I lost control. Police have not sent them anything, no tickets nothing. I am assuming I am going to charged now and just guessing I am gonna charged for careless driving. Because at that time I did not know my tire ...

would you give a police escort?
On the back of a yahoo video from the states, where a guy was stopped for speeding, whilst trying to get his wife to hospital who was in labour and imminent.
The guy was apparently around the corner from the hospital and pleaded with the cop saying that he can make it, cop said he'd called an EMT and also says , they will get you there quicker and ...

Re: Caught gojng 110km in 80 zone
but I went from a 2002 POS to a 2012 German luxury car
I would expect a price increase for that alone
I really dont think they factored in the ticket
especially if you have multi-car and home insurance all in, I doubt they want you to leave/search for a new qoute..
@bobajob - $30 per month x 12 months = $360 x 3 years = $1,080 + speeding ticket ...

Re: Caught gojng 110km in 80 zone
you could ask doesnt hurt, but I don't think that exists here (in the UK there is) your usually bargaining for a lesser offense, smaller fine less points (not that that makes a difference)
Do you guys know, beyond just asking for lower speed/penalty, is there anything else I can bargain with to make it more likely? Example, community hour ...

Re: Caught gojng 110km in 80 zone
TD rate any speeds UNDER 50kms as a minor,
in fact my one which was 29over was a minor, i changed my car from a 2002 (3k worth of coupe american POS) to 2012 (2.8 38 grands worth of convertible German)
with only this ticket my insurance went up by 30 bucks a month, hope that helps
so I don't think the effect of a single minor speed ticket was ...

haha have to remember that one RI.
all sorted out, less hassle than I thought,
$100 bucks for a full tank of gas :(
but all paperwork done, licence, sticker etc. I just surrendered the old plates for a rsticker refund.
got the price down, but I'm a shitty negotiator, could have done better.

oh sure, I understand that, what I meant was about paperwork,
I took it on the "changeover day" insurance knew I would be driving both cars
so had it scrapped then
txs for the reply :)
hey Stanton, yes this is what I was also worried about,
I might actually go to my mate and get him to do a safety (I have an e-cert) and get a uvip from the MTO ...
