Would my licence get suspended for none payment of a parking ticket
seems a bit ...

Re: Licence Plate Obstruction

I guess as cicvie's we forget that cops ticket people like giving out candy on halloween :)
by the time our thing comes up, it's like "who... what?" LOLZ

I guess to us, NOT having had a ticket or getting a single ticket, we remember and know everything.

Like in my job, people ask me what I did to somone's account 2 days ago ...

Re: Licence Plate Obstruction

rafiki;
my understanding from reading posts on here;
is that, she cut you a break INSTEAD of the stop sign, so it was almost like a reduced ticket.
so if you plead guilty, yes obstruct plate, and if you fight and loose, they could reinstate the original charge, as well as the obstruct plate.

BUT..... > Jsherk question
is this not the same for ...

Re: Licence Plate Obstruction

ok,
I think both are minor, so as far as insurance are concerned, they may treat each differently, but it is still an offence, I think as I said an obsured plate shouldnt effect you,
no demerits for the plate, 3 for the stop sign
and whatever the fines are

So... you did catch a break, but both are MINOR convictions

A stop sign ticket has four ...

Re: Licence Plate Obstruction

I'm sure somone with a bit more knowledge will be along soon, but here's a few things

* License plates, you cannot put or attach anything on to you license plates, it's well.. illegal, dealers play dumb, they know it, 99% of people drive around with them, some are better than others, I believe as "long" as your plate and sticker can be CLEARLY ...

Girl, 16, among 4 dead in fiery crash in Brampton

Next time you get copped for DD, speeding, texting, dangerous driving, etc etc.
please take note of the below accident reported in the GTA Yesterday

Your lucky that you where stopped and "this" didn't happen to you.

must be hard on the 1'st responders to have to deal with a fatal, joe public may see an accident once or twice in there lives,
these ...

Re: Stunt driving at 144 km/h in an 80 zone really need advi

only thing I have to add, is

you where really doing some serious speed, even "if" you where on a highway, you are still nearly 50clicks over the limit.
reading your post and in between the lines, your a boy racer, you got caught, that's it.

doing 144 in an 80, so it wasn't a highway, and nearly double the speed limit.
Your lucky you didn't kill ...

off topic / announcing a minors name ?

Sorry for the OT, bu I trust the advice given here.

I didn't know till after the fact (and it all turned out ok),
Yesterday we had a party for my 6 year old.

We had a Party room in a mall, with a fun fair/amusement park.

One of the children ran off, no parents (long story) the child is about 9.

Wife tried to get them to do an announcement and ...

Re: no xxx ahead begins - question

txs

LOLZ on the anecdote and VERY true ;)

No, there is no requirement for advanced notification of a change in the speed limit. Speed limit signs, like all signs, must be visible from a distance of at least 60 metres or more. There are also specific requirements regarding the distance between speed limit signs, but it varies depending on the ...

no xxx ahead begins - question

Can't find the post I saw the answer to this.

If on a road there is no "xxx ahead" sign, but only a "xxx begins" sign what are your options,

so lets say I'm going from a 60, if I see a "50 ahead" it gives me time to slow down.
so short of slamming on anchors to drop from the 60-50 whats the dilio?

If a LEO saw me doing 60 before the 50 sign ...

Re: Plugging My Cell Phone in at Stop Light

Peeling/ eating food (replace with reading a map/newspaper/book doing your make-up etc etc) is not what the distracted driving law is about or could be charged under
but a police officer at his discretion could charge you with careless or DD.

I believe careless driving will receive six demerit points, fines up to $2,000 and/or a jail term of six ...

Re: Is all speeding equal?

Let me clarify,

IF I'm keeping to the speed limit, and keeping a relevant distance behind the driver in front of me and he brakes or another driver cuts in front of me "Forces" me to brake
then I AM GOING to brake, if your behind me good luck to you. I am not there to worry who is behind me and worry if there going to ram me, you hit me from ...

Re: Is all speeding equal?

essentially everyone is correct here, especially Bend,

if your doing 41 in a 40 that is speeding.

To be honest, if someone is on your bumper, brake, it's there fault there problem.
If your in the 1st lane and not a passing lane and keeping to the speed limit you are 100% in the right.

Stop sign offenses are minor unless the sign is on a school bus.
