rafiki;
my understanding from reading posts on here;
is that, she cut you a break INSTEAD of the stop sign, so it was almost like a reduced ticket.
so if you plead guilty, yes obstruct plate, and if you fight and loose, they could reinstate the original charge, as well as the obstruct plate.

ok,
I think both are minor, so as far as insurance are concerned, they may treat each differently, but it is still an offence, I think as I said an obsured plate shouldnt effect you,
no demerits for the plate, 3 for the stop sign

only thing I have to add, is
you where really doing some serious speed, even "if" you where on a highway, you are still nearly 50clicks over the limit.
reading your post and in between the lines, your a boy racer, you got caught, that's it.
doing 144 in an 80, so it wasn't a highway, and nearly double the speed limit.
Your lucky you didn't kill ...

off topic / announcing a minors name ?
Sorry for the OT, bu I trust the advice given here.
I didn't know till after the fact (and it all turned out ok),
Yesterday we had a party for my 6 year old.
We had a Party room in a mall, with a fun fair/amusement park.
One of the children ran off, no parents (long story) the child is about 9.

Can't find the post I saw the answer to this.
If on a road there is no "xxx ahead" sign, but only a "xxx begins" sign what are your options,
so lets say I'm going from a 60, if I see a "50 ahead" it gives me time to slow down.
so short of slamming on anchors to drop from the 60-50 whats the dilio?
If a LEO saw me doing 60 before the 50 sign ...

essentially everyone is correct here, especially Bend,
if your doing 41 in a 40 that is speeding.
To be honest, if someone is on your bumper, brake, it's there fault there problem.
If your in the 1st lane and not a passing lane and keeping to the speed limit you are 100% in the right.

WHAT? unless your part machine/robot/cyborg then ,
NO-ONE is a vehicle, you might want to look up a dictionary definition.

it very much depends on the insurance company;
most forms I've seen they ask "have you got any convictions in the past 5 years"
as long as you keep your nose clean the rates will go down.
