Re: Red light - fail to stop

Let's say I were to choose option 2 that you've listed. What do I do/talk about with the said officer?

You'll show up to the courthouse with an appointment and they'll just offer you a deal for your guilt. They aren't interested in any particulars. It isn't a mini trial or anything. They'll try to find something suitable to lower it down to that ...

Re: Red light - fail to stop

PS: the ticket is payable $325 and on the ticket he wrote my plate number wrong. instead of a M he wrote a n (literally).

PPS: it's suppose to be ZM but he wrote zn http://i.imgur.com/hnbwm4P.jpg

It won't matter. Either way, looks like a fast written M anyways.

What you do with your ticket is up to you. Luckily, the charge carries 3 demerit ...

Re: Question about Disclosure

1.) I was ticketed in Woodstock, Ontario , and I sent the prosecutor a disclosure form that looks like this: http://www.ticketcombat.com/step4/sampledisclosure.doc on June 24th, 2013. My court date is August 7, 2013. How long would disclosure take to be sent, processed, and received? Is my disclosure request specific enough? I didn't put my phone ...

Re: Parking within 3m of fire hydrant, when it's more than 3

I then took a picture with myself in it, spreading my arms out (about 1.75m), with one hand touch the hydrant.

I suggest you read the bylaw you were charged with before trying to make any type of defense. Let's just assume they'd take your picture into account and take your word that the car hadn't been moved.

Majority of hydrant bylaws read as ...

Re: Proceed Contrary to Sign at intersection

New signs don't need to be marked. If they did, there would be regulations on how "warning/new" signs are to be displayed (there isn't). Sometimes you'll get the "new" sign, but it looks to be a courtesy more than anything. Whether they add one wont change your case.

If I were a prosecutor and had to counter your argument, it would probably be ...

Re: Speeding ticket - first ever

I was in a rental, with literally 4 cars around me, which were ALL doing the same speed as me. Can I dispute this charge?

Whether or not other cars were traveling at the same speed as you isn't going to help your case.

If I were to dispute this charge, are chances of a reduced fine likely?

You can get a reduced charged just by asking as long ...

You still haven't listed what you were charged with. No one can tell you what can of penalties you're looking at if you don't even know your charges.

Driving without insurance, for example, is a minimum fine of $5000 up to $25,000.

what happens when i go to the police station?

You will receive a summons for court. It will have the date and time for you to make a court appearance.

Considering you have to surrender your license when it's suspended and can't get it back till your fees are ...

Re: Am I entitled to get paid to show as a witness?

Why on earth would you wish such misery on people? How is it making this a better province if some poor bugger can't go to Orlando 12 years after he failed to attend a hearing over a $500 bent fender? Should executing an arrest warrant really be "a grand old time?" I can't say I'm very sorry to see the use of the past tense in this.

Yep, I agree with that.

The options are on the back of your ticket. You can either

(1) Plead guilty
(2) Go to a first attendance meeting where you will still be asked to plead guilty, but they may give you a reduced fine, or
(3) go to trial.

Re: 4 summons, 1 suspension, really scared, please advise

I'm going to assume since you decided nothing would happen if you didn't pay your ticket that you may be unaware of the consequences of driving while suspended.

- mandatory fine of $1000 up to $5000.
- mandatory 6 months added to your current suspension.
- the possibly of up to 6 months in jail.

There's a possibility your insurance company wont ...

Re: FAILURE TO PROCEED AS DIRECTED AT GREEN LIGHT

I requested trial and my court date is October 10th. Does it make sense to request disclosure now or is their an advantage of requesting it closer to the date ?

There is no advantage in wasting time to request disclosure.

(a) you're doing yourself a disservice by not having enough time to prepare a defense; and
(b) should you not receive ...
