Just so you are aware, any conviction over 4 points is a violation for a Novice Driver.
First occurrence is a 30 day suspension.

I am not sure what you think will be in the disclosure package. No insurance is a reverse onus charge and therefore the crown does not have to prove that there was no insurance your son has to prove that there was at the time of the stop. Disclosure can be a simple as a page of notes with his info and no insurance written.

It doesn't work like that.
The penalty is what it is. You can't be convicted and start negotiating some sort of deal. If you are convicted of going through a stop sign, you are going to get 3 points no matter what. You don't get the luxury of having a trial and then bargaining some sort of smaller charge. You can't have your cake and eat it too ...

You would need to request a trial and request disclosure to see what the evidence is against you. It'll list the original speed if the ticket has been reduced.
If your charge has been reduced from 50+, I wouldn't count on catching anymore breaks.
