Re: Stopping two cars

New civic's are very nice for you......

Your style is very thorough. Next time you have the oppertunity on a smoggy day, light someone up from 1 km and keep the gun on them. If the speed decreases the closer they get closer then there is some effect.

I know you'll say they let they're foot off the gas but this would help prove the theory.

Re: Stopping two cars

The scope is offset from where the laser pulse is emitted. How is it aligned for different distances ?
I'm no great fan of having laser beams pointed at me while I'm driving, but I don't think parallax is an issue. The laser beam is not significantly affected by gravity and has no wind resistance, so the "error" between the sightline of the scope ...

Absoletely not!

Bear might be correct in that his equipment is 100% foolproof, but how it is used is definitely up for argument.

My offer of you coming to visit when I'm working and showing you the tools is still there!!

Once you see it and use the equipment, you will then understand the equipment better AND know why it is accurate! AS compared to the videos ...

Re: Stopping two cars

I'm sure this belongs in traffic jokes but here goes:

Officer: Mr Reflections, where are we going in such a hurry?
Me: I lost this stupid bet with a cop and I have to get him his prize.
Officer: And why do you need to drive so fast??
Me: He's a professional and demands results.
Officer: Results??
Me: This donut and Tims are fresh........Where did ...

Re: O.P.P officers avoid instant penalties!

The vagueness is such that it allows virtually anything you do while driving to be possibly considered an act of stunt driving or street racing. The type of irrevocable and unappealable consequences that can be imposed upon anyone, guilty or not, on the spot, is not justified in a free society.

So if the courts say one thing and the police say ...

Re: Stopping two cars

FYI, we do not give complete notes for our whole shift. Only applicable notes for the incident in question

Your alignment check is part of the incident

Absolutely, very easy to do obtain all speeds on all 3 vehicles.

Depends on vehicle gapping and your distance to target. 400 meters to target = 1.2 meter (4 feet) diameter beam, plus any ...

20 years old+Audi S4+340HP+A wee few wobbly pops= 1 dead driver, 1 dead passenger. I think the rest of us "poor" people know that one already.

Re: Stopping two cars

Disclosure it is. I really doubt that the officer could reliably get your speed with the other car in front of you. If the officer was using lidar then he could have sampled the speed of the passing car twice, once before he hit the brakes and once while he was slowing, and attributed it to you. Disclosure is a must. The disclosure should list the ...

Or just wait and bring it up in three weeks. You have done what is required, you are the accused, it is not your responsibility to file the paper work and keep the system rolling. The system needs to be overhauled, they know it, you know it. Let this be just another reason to rebuild it.

Re: Ontario may ban cell phones while driving, your thoughts?

I used to be in favor of banning cell phones while driving but I just don't trust this government to write fair and balanced legislation. It seems to me the same thing occurred just recently: we have a problem with street racing let's write a law about it let's charge thousands of people who aren't street racers If a cop sees someone with their ...

Ask Brad Diamond........

If you do not see a 70KM/H sign while getting on the highway, you are to "assume" the normal speed for the road. EC row is a 100 zone if I remember correctly...... You could probably beat this without much trouble. The question is, were you on the ramp or ...
