Re: Antique Radar Detector...
If you have it in your trunk, how is any cop going to find it?????????? Stuff it in the box on the way there and put it back when your done. If a cop wants to bust you at a car show.....he's going to have to prove why he's not seeing the forces shrink. Just my opinion and this "bears" no inciuation to anyone on this board.

Pictures are good! Have the officer point out where he radared you, get it blown up for clarity. Also, go with a 7 MP camera or better if you can. Make sure you take the picture, you will have to attest to where it is and all those perticulars. Fight the good fight.

Pop-up cop holes not necessary :)
Damn, there goes my get rich invention
Bear, you go ahead and do your "Cop-in-a-hole" thing. I will be taking credit for the big A$$ mallet, not mullet, that we'll attach to our front bumpers. Whack-a-cop.........I mean mole. It'll be great until someone loses and eye though.
I could see it now. Any multilane ...

Re: going 50 over the limit
Hold up. Cosine works for the driver. In most cases it is a non-factor as far as influencing the reading by either radar or lidar. I see no regular, read officer sitting road side, one lane from traffic, speed "trap" that will lower a reading by 2-3 KMH. The fact of the matter is that the operator manuals state, thanks book, that the device is only ...

I'll throw another idea in the mix :D
Charge as normal at roadside....go to court.....when conviction registered 30 day suspension on 1st offence and $2000, 90 day on 2nd offence and $5000, 1yr on 3rd offence and $10000.
that should comprise the found guilty part, plus is a strong deterent and penalty should one be caught.....heck vote HB for ...

According to my handy dandy calculator, in order for you to achieve a 5 degree angle at 400 meters to target you would need to be 35 meters from the road. .
SO what your saying is stop using things I find on the internet...go to my office and get my training stuff.....copy :D

Tan (angle)= opposite/adjacent.
So, we multiply both sides by 400 (just an example number) and we get 400 times Tan 5 degrees=34.99 blah, blah. I think you would be hard pressed to catch a lot ...

Re: Street racing?
I agree with Reflections (except for the math part). 755 people were penalized for something they were never convicted of. And of those, 229 were not guilty of anything. That's just wrong.
229 times say 1200..............
Let me go find the calculator........oooh, whendid that spot show up on the wall..... there it is........ $274800. I wonder ...

That's only 325 convicted of "racing". Theoretically, 745 people need their impoundment fees back.325 convicted, 229 dropped and 526 reduced. Source: "Street racing: thousands charged, few convicted"; CBC, June 9, 2008

Re: going 50 over the limit
I believe that there is also settings, not available to the officer, to fine tune the sum of least squares data set. Basically a "noise threshold". This is probably set in the factory and could be adjusted by a tech. I think what is funny though, Bear this is for you, is that when you do your alignment check, it is done at 50 and 70 meters. All of ...

Re: Street racing?
The fact remains that this law can be held over the motorist head........ I have had a few officers, how do we say, try to influence me into incriminating myself. The law says the officer has six months to lay this charge.......So in essence if the officer lays section 172 on my arse 5.5 months after something, insert your own traffic violation ...

Re: Street racing?
The law it's self is the problem. Guilty without a chance to prove innocence. The same piece of paper that provides for us making laws in this country is the same piece of paper that allows us to choose those who enforce it. If the charter says we have the right to trial before finding of guilt and the charter says we can make the laws, politicians ...

149 will still get you "raced" in an 80 zone. And the electronic are not that expensive to swap. We already do it for Ford, everything is interchangable. However, Ontarians did already destroy photo radar so bill 203 and this one won't be hard.
