You can't prove that you had your cruise control on, would be nice though.
Give the full description of the event when you fight the ticket. You'll have to question the officer as to what he saw. You'll get some details with the disclosure and his notes.
Side note, vehicles travelling at a higher speed will drive straighter in the wind. The ...

We have covered in previous posts why police travel at higher speeds, read 130 and up, without their lights on. And bear said, not every cop on the road is looking for speeders. Have you noticed that you rarely see an officer during rush hour???

fight the ticket, go to court and explain what happened. If you can remember details, now is the time to write them down.

Driving while stupid.
S.999 of the Ontario Highway Traffic Act should read:
Any person, while in care and control of a motor vehicle, and does commit the following:
1. Exceeds the speed of others on the motorway in excess of 70 kilometers per hour;
2. Talks on his/her cellular phone;

Probably.
That said, 231 is still way below the provincial record some guy from Toronto set on the 400... he was caught going 300+.
If you hit 200 on any public hwy in ontario you should be thrown in jail, period. I'm all for higher speed limits but that's just ...

Sorry - the ticket is for "fail to yield from driveway" and does not have a subsection written in. It seems that this subsection error may be an out for her?? I spoke to the other party and they tell me they weren't charged for anything. They want to know if I want to pay for the damage to their vehicle or go thru insurance.

I've still cruised, cruise control on, past officers at 130 on the 403 multiple times and they don't even bat an eyelash, while they are doing speed enforcement..... Just for giggles bear how many of those high milers that you do get are from the GTA or out of area?

Re: People are Driving Faster
Me thinks that 130 is average for the GTA.....It all depends on the time of day. Coming home from work is slower then going to...but there's always exceptions. I have noticed it's slower out there......carnage alley...... but when you get used to 130 it doesn't seem that fast. And I'll throw this one to you 'Bear, if you look further ahead for 130 ...

White on the road......Such as the blue lights we see, they look blue at them, however still transmit a white light onto the road surface, hence those are still legal.

If the green lights "throw you off" and you cant tell a vehicle is heading your way...you shouldn't be on the road in the first place.
We have all gotten used to understanding the direction a vehicle by which lights we see, red or white/yellow. Green is for firefighters. I understand you desire to be an individual and personalizing your car, but ...

I 407 everyday and it saves me 20-30 minutes one way, lets see $5 for 30 minutes, here's my coinage. I don't think it's a better, different highway, it's just not as full, do mostly to the tolls.

Graduated licensing is better than nothing
Actually, there was that report that said almost 60% of new graduated drivers were in an collision within the first year of driving, I'll try to dig that up. This was worse then without it.
100km/hr = 28m/sec
(52m stopping distance + 40m reaction time = 92m to stop)
130km/hr = 36m/sec
(92m stopping ...

these aren't green covers over the headlights, it as the actual bulb with different gases that creates a green light to be projected.
The green may throw off other drivers, expecting the front of other vehicles to have white or yellow.....Are your marker lights the correct colours??
As far as the lumen or candela count goes, I have yet to see ...

And graduated driving was a huge success........... end sarcasm. The problem is that the elected members have drivers and they can't see past their own crackberries, out on to the road to really understand what is going on.but I think we require better driver education. MUCH better. People simply don't know what they're doing
