Re: Can I appeal a suspended licence ? I REALLY need some help!
Why not just increase the fine to cover court costs and a late fee on top of that ? Why the need to suspend their licence for such a small offence ? It's entirely unjustified.
Well you never paid the small fine so why would you pay the increased fine? The suspension is an inducement that forced you to pay the fines so i would say it worked ...

Re: Can I appeal a suspended licence ? I REALLY need some help!
Not really I have managed to drive for the last 25 years, and yes I have gotten tickets(lots of them) and i have always managed to pay them and not get m DL suspended...
The alternative is we could go like the USA and just issue warrants for unpaid tickets and haul people off to jail.

Re: Can I appeal a suspended licence ? I REALLY need some help!
Whether you think the suspension is to severe or not does not matter. HTA tickets not paid result in suspended tickets do matter the cost.
You knew you got the ticket and Chose to not pay it or fight it. The predicament you are in is purely a result of your decisions.
You could try and get it re-opened and fight it but I have not that work when ...

Someone Brake checks it is fairly obvious. Usually there is road rage or they do it in an area that has no turn offs... I have charged two times under the criminal code and both were convicted. This is something that I do not *EDIT* around with.

Because you did not speed in the past has no bearing on your speeding now. You admit here you were speeding. No where in the HTA does it say you can speed. IF you think someone is to close slow down and pull right and let the car go by.

No...A Dl that is surrendered stays..say you surrender and then come back in 5 years. you do not get a new dl..They re-issue the same DL number so suspension stays..
You may surrender the DL but the number stays attached to you

It is highway traffic act offense. You will never be given a persons criminal record. In fact for a criminal code offense you will never get a person criminal record. Nor should you. You also will not be given a persons address.

Insurance charges are the easiest for us to charge and prosecutors to win.
We charge based on no or expired card or statements.. The owner now has to prove they had insurance.
Not sure what opening or disclosure would bring you. It is not a gray area. You either had insurance or you did not.
I am willing to bet that there is more than a 5k fine ...

"This allegation surely does not meet the required elements of the charge."
It sure does if it is a criminal code suspension. Criminal code suspensions are an "anywhere" offense.
The officer may have run the plate and noticed that it came back to a person who is suspended under the criminal code. Happens all the time.

That is what I meant by Insurance blame. I Just could not remember what it was called.
Insurance world is weird. All I can say is what happened to me. I was in my own vehicle on Carleton Campus and guy runs a stop sign. He was blamed for collision and I paid no part of my deductible. So based on that he was at fault.

Plus insurance blame is different than HTA blame. You can be sure that if you are not stopping at a stop sign and cause a collision you may not get a ticket. But the report will reflect that you are clearly at fault. In my experience you will be blamed fully for the collisions.( this is from a personal collision I had in PVt property. Other guy did ...

Nope its just an error that can easily be explained away...If you had a 1 piece license you would still be here with no ID.
Plus the ADSL has noting to do with guilt or innocence with impaired driving...So it has no bearing on the criminal code. If you are found not guilty the suspension does not go away...
