Thanks for the clarification.
However, I would mostly think that the other officers were in the coffee shop and just paged him and said, "Hey catch this guy..." which is really just eye sight and no metering and aren't both a condition of issuing a ticket?
Thanks again,

It get put into our in house records. It ties the vehicle plate and driver to the ticket or warning. Changing plates would have no change as you would still be tied to the old plates.
Our system runs the plate and takes the R/O information and pulls the hits for the r/o from our in house data base.

A reduced ticket is completely officers discretion. If someone is an ass why should I exercise that discretion. I have done the same and will do the same in the future.
But since everyone fights every speeding ticket I pretty much do not reduce them anymore. ( when I do reduce it is to disobey sign by-law). If someone wants a ticket with no ...

Re: Novice Driver B.A.C Above 0%
The 24 hour roadside suspension has no reinstatement fee and the DL is taken and 24 hrs later the driver can attend the station to get it back.
Upon conviction you are looking for a 30-60 day suspension for a "Novice violation.
This is tough to beat as it is a charge that actually has proof, namely the actual BAC reading that is not zero.

The distance he stopped you from the intersection is not relevant. When I was rural I sopped people 10km from the intersection. There was a multitude of reasons such as back up closer, Waiting for the hits on the plate to return( we like to know who we are dealing with be fore we stop them), not able to notify dispatch of the stop as the radio is ...

Question has been answered twice. You can accept that or not. Notes are not standardized and EVERY officer will make as few, as many, or where ever they see fit. There is only one person who can answer that question and that is the cop who wrote them. Then it is up to the JP to render a decision.

No, Notes are on the back, or a notebook or some version of electronic notes will put them in a multitude of positions.
Contrary to what people seem to think we make our notes after . If we forget or get busy we do not create a set. All that happens is we tell the prosecutor we have no notes and ticket is withdrawn, not a big deal.

Notes normally made after the stop and not during the stop in my case. This is because after a ticket is served the charged person in many cases make a spontaneous utterance.

Ok one more time. Any police officer sworn in the province of Ontario can enforce the Ontario HTA on ANY highway/roadway ANYWHERE in Ontario. That means any police officer can set up a speed trap and do enforcement on the 400 series of highways should they want to. Just like the OPP can set up in Ottawa should they want to.

I do not give out warnings for this charge. You put my life in danger and you get a charge. At highway speeds I will tell the speeder( or what ever I have stopped a warning) and go after the car that passed me.
This charge came out of far to may cruisers being struck on t-stops by drivers not paying attention.

Can't usually have it both ways. You turn down the deal while at court means you are now defending against the original charge.
