I hope this isn't considered necro-posting around here. I had something similar happen to me a few weeks ago with the same section 182(2) infraction. I was in the Napanee area on the 401. Came upon an OPP cruiser in the left lane who couldn't seem to maintain a steady speed, travelling anywhere from 90 up to 110, but who refused to change lanes or allow anyone to pass him. Myself and a growing que of cars were stuck behind this guy because anytime anyone wanted to pass when he was slowing down to 100 or less, he'd turn on his emergency lights and prevent the pass. I saw him do this at least 5 times over a span of 15min. We were going slow enough that transports had started catching us and the road ahead was pretty much clear of traffic since we were travelling slower than the normal flow of traffic. I passed the cop when he again slowed from 110 and I decided not to follow suit. I passed him in the right lane going 110 and when I got ahead of him, he pretty much instantly pulled in behind me and lit me up. I'm already planning to fight this in court. He gave me a long winded speech about pulling me over for my safety, accusing me of being the type of driver that gets involved in accidents, and then concluding his diatribe by giving me some advice about passing cops and how "other officers" don't like being passed. WTF? What I'd like to know is if his use of the emergency lights and his driving behaviour gives me grounds to file a complaint with the OPP? I think what this guy did was disgusting and an abuse of his position.
Very clever Ref. LOL. Your "period" button is broken, too! LOL Just thought of something: - If a couple buddies and myself drive side-by-side down the 401, at the speed limit, mile after mile, blocking all 3 lanes, would we not essentially be duplicating this officers actions? - Would it be legal for us to do that?

To answer your questions: No. You'd have enough skill to drive exactly at 100 km/hr instead of being in the 90-110 range :P No. There was a case like that a while back (2 years?). A teacher was charged with "impeding the flow of traffic" while doing what you are describing. If you use the case law, you'd be guilty, if you go by the book, you'd be innocent. Go figure Have you seen the so-called "biblical proofs"? Piece your statement from sentences from the Bible, doesn't matter if one sentence is from Genesis and the next is from Revelations (ie no connection other than they are both from same book), and call it God's word. So the practice has been around for the past 2000 years. Queens Park had just legalized it....... As for the comma/period............... Copy-paste , .

Damn my comma button is broken I hope that doesn't sound like I am rambling like the written law

Hmmmmm..... ... ...Got it!!! 1) Get McGuinty to have Fantino instruct his officers to drive 3 (or 4) cruisers abreast across all lanes of the 401 from Windsor to Toronto, at, or about 100 kph (to demonstrate how safe the highway would be at the speed limit). 2) Wait for election day. 3) Watch the McGuinty government become a thing of the past! If I EVER get a chance to ask Julian Fantino ONE question, that's what it's gonna be. "Why not just force traffic to move slower using multiple cruisers?"

That was '97.....http://www.drivers.com/article/149/ But as long as we are on religous terms I now present to you the Ten commandments of Ontario driving: 1.Thou shall not race 2.Thou shall not spin thy tires 3.Thou shall not do as the police do 4.Thou shall shut up and obey 5.Thou shall not drink and drive 6.Thou shall not make excessive noise with thy vehicle 7.Thou shall be allowed to drive in any lane without reason 8.Thou shall drive only after learning how to park 9.Thou shall allow your offspring to get many speeding tickets, buy them a faster car, then blame everyone but yourself for your failings as a father 10.Thou shall be guilty based solely on one persons opinion and lose the ability to earn a living, live a normal life and if that one person is wrong, have no recourse in rectifying the error, so suck it up

Look the ticket you got "disobey sign" was for speeding. However if he didn't get you on radar it's his word against yours. You have to say you drove exactly 100km/h that's all. He has no proof if you drove 105, 110 or 130 over simple as that. As for abusing his position that's exactly what he did but you can't prove it it was only you 2 ( your word against his). People abuse their power no matter what position they hold maybe not everybody but in general. I had pretty much the same situation, went to court, case drop. Check Little Guy (disobey sign 182.2) you will win the case if he has no proof other than his word simple as that, Good luck.

Judy was driving Amber's car when she was pulled over. She couldn't find the insurance papers and was charged with failure to surrender insurance card.
Amber said she does have insurance papers that says her car is insured, but she had canceled insurance after receiving the papers. Now if Judy…
I got a careless driving ticket and I was involved in quite a serious accident. I was driving at about 60 km/h arriving towards a stop sign. Unfortunately when I tried to stop, my shoes were sliding off from my foot as they did not have any strap and were perhaps oversized and slippery. I could…
I received a speeding ticket yesterday, and was hoping to get some insight as to how to deal with it here.
I was driving, and I seen an officer driving behind a couple of oncoming cars. I looked down at my speed, and seen that I was doing slightly over 100 (ie 102/103), so I put on the…
looking for an official call on right turn onto a double lane road . If I'm at a four lane intersection , the lane across has an advance green to turn left , can I turn right into the second lane . The drivers across are suppose to stay in the leftmost lane which should allow me to merge into the…
Hello, I am sure people are getting tired of asking about this hand held electronic device section, but I would like to know if a piece of paper is included in this description? I was ticketed just a few days ago for holding a gas station receipt in my hand to stop it from flapping in the breeze…
So i got stopped. He told me he stopped me because "you were squealing your tires back there, and then you were talking on your phone." I replied with a smirk that its a cadillac, i cant squeal the tires. Then he said "are you saying you werent talking on the phone? And i hesitated and just said…
I was driving with a passenger in my Cab, when I was pulled over. When the Officer approached the Cab, he asked if I had a good reason for not wearing my seat-belt. I stated to him, because I have a passenger, to which he responded with "Their is a National Seat Belt Campaign" on and with zero…
I was pulled over a couple days ago going down a steep incline on my way to Cobourg. In order to get up a hill in my vehicle, I have to go at least 90 or it gets stuck between gears and then when I was going down the hill I wasn't riding my brake or touching the gas, it just gained speed. When I…
