I was reading the other topic in this fourm. I was on hwy 37 trying to make my girlfriends ganadmas mass and I live an hour away and I had an hour to get there so I was going fast but not 50 over untill some idiot got on my tail soo close that I was to concentrated on him that I kept going faster untill I got pulled over at 147 on an 80 km hwy. I alreaddy lost 3 points and this time was just the worst timing .. If I lose 6 more point thats all my 9 points for a g2 class driver right? what will happen if I lose all my points?! I need my lisince for work and other things this summer. I would never speed again to keep my lisince. not even 10 over .. how long would I lose my lisince? Will I ? If they cut the fine down to half will I still lose 6 points? They put my name down on the ticket as james d arnold .. my name is philip james d arnold .. will they drop the charges as a tecnical error? I'm trying to do anything I can to not lose my lisince .. I've been waiting my whole life and now that I have it it may be gone. HELP ME PLEASEEE!!! Thank you.

When the stakes are this high, I would strongly recommend seeking the services of a lawyer familiar with that court. You won't get off scott free, but he'll be your best bet for winning an acceptable plea bargain withe crown. Was your car towed? License pulled for a week? etc?

Yes. It was my grandparents car. and yep I my drives in at the police station right now. I know I wont get off Scott free .. as much as I hope I would i know it wont happen. I just don't want to lose my drivers license for good. My dad passed away a year ago so I do all the driving for my mom and I'm the only one and she cant get time off work or anything so I do all the driving for my mom with my sisters and such. If I lose it my family's screwed .. I just need a point left and I'd never speed again.

You should definately contact an agent or lawyer. The crown may seek a licence suspension in addition to the 7-day suspension you have already encountered. You may be able to keep your licence if you play your cards right. You are facing a fine between $2, 000 and $10,000 depending on your record. The errors with your name can easily be corrected at trial. In some cases, the crown may offer careless driving, with no suspension and 6 points. This is a terrible option and they may make it sound great to you. Don't take it. Careless is viewed the same as a Impaired Driving charge by most insurance companies. Make sure you at least talk to someone qualified to find out your options.

Just go 49 over. 50 over you get towed. So go 49 then if you wanna speed like that. haha i wonder what the officer thinks when he clocks a bunch of cars all like 145-149. Must just shake his head.

Haha a group hug at tim hortons? Get one of those tables with 6 seats and 2 dozen Boston cream and it will all be okay :p. Hey hwybear just a random question. I don't know how long your guys shifts are but i assume you guys spend ALOT of time on the road. That i am sure can get quite aggravating and sometimes boring. Do they take the AM/FM radio or cd player out of the crown vics.? I think it was you said in 2009 they want to phase out the crown vic police interceptor what does that mean you guys will be getting soon. Alot of other forces are buying impalas and chargers. The chargers seem to be spreading everywhere.

They leave the radio/cd or whatever is in the vehicle. Apparently it is more cost effective to leave it in (standard equip) than to not put it in :? Crown Vic has been extended and the final year is 2011. Think the Tahoe will be the vehicle of choice, large enough to carry the equipment, and apparently keeping them until 250k compared to Vic, Charger, Imapla at 150k.

Interesting you guys only keep them to 150,000 km???? My question is for the Highway safety divisions why would they choose all tahoe's instead of charges or cars. You would think for highway patrol you would want cars, and faster ones. The charger would be perfect for highway enforcement.

Isn't the Tahoe faster than a Charger? I think I remember hwybear mentioning that the Tahoe had better acceleration and just slightly less top end speed than a Crown Vic. I have heard from others that the Charger isn't as good as a Crown Vic for catching up after a U-turn. (This is the V6 Charger. I don't think many services go for the V8.)

The tahoe might have more cup holders and space for when hwybear does a tims run  The vics horsepower is 248 i think a 4.6 L v8? I am not sure about the tahoe or charger. The charger comes with all types of engines. The police one is the R/t i think it has around 350 hp.... I know they come up to a 5.7 L V8 or a 6 L V8. That must cost enough in fuel though.... 150 k doesn't seem like much. I am guessing on an average shift you guys must drive at least 100-300 km/h depending? The only thing that doesn't make sense is there is no way a huge Tahoe will handle as nice as a charger, thats why to me it seems strange to use an SUV for highway safety patrol especially in the event of a highspeed chase. Doesn't the crown vic have the highest safety ratings for a rear end collision? believe it or not i saw a F250 last week doing radar enforcement on a 2 lane set up with a grass median. Im not even kidding i have no idea why they would use such a massive truck for speed enforcement. Besides the fact people don;t expect that thing would be a OPP vehicle checking for speeders it doesnt make alot of sense to use.

The Charger's base police package has the 3.5 L V6, although you can upgrade to the 340 HP 5.7 L V8. The V6 puts out the same horsepower as the Crown Vic's V8, but the CV likely has a better torque curve. The LX platform is unibody, isn't it? The CV and Tahoe's body-on-frame would hold up better in minor collisions or things like jumping the curb at speed. I'm not sure what the cost differences are between the V8 Charger and a Tahoe.

150,000k to my understanding is the most bang for the buck line. - maintenance cost rise significantly after that level - resale value still good (less money in, more money back) Car is only about 1 1/2-3yrs old for resale.

The fine is not the issue but I am worried about insurance rates. First speeding ticket in my life Any suggestions on how to handle this? I can't afford to spend a day at the court
So was at court today in Orillia for a friend, and I had submitted a couple notice of motion a couple weeks ago that I wanted to deal with before arraignment. I met with prosecutor before hand, and it went something like this:
Prosecutor: "Do you have the case law?"
Me: "What do you mean?"
Prosecutor: "Do you have the case law for your motion?"
Me: "All the case law is quoted in the motion that I…
1)failure to change address on license (i got married a couple of months earlier and moved)
2) license plate not fully visible
I got pulled over because I had 2 letters peeling off my license plate. I know ignorance isn't a defense, but I really had no idea that this was an issue. Plus, you see many cars on the road with peeling plates. I got both tickets and…
I was driving around 140km/h on a 100km/h posted on the highway. I was in the fast lane. The officer was very nice and reduced it to no points and just 15km/h over.
I only have my G2.
1. Will this affect me taking the G test next month?
2. I am very grateful for the officer lowering the ticket... should I just pay the 52.5$ and leave it as is.. I am a secondary driver under my dads name and we have…
Hi, thanks in advance for the help. Been driving for 10 years, clean record until today when I got slapped with two tickets. First: going 135 at 100 on the 401, second: not having a valid sticker (I recently moved and completely forgot about it)
My friend tells me I should fight the speed ticket, if anything to reduce the fine and points. Would be alot of help if anyone could walk me through…
My wife, who has never had a traffic ticket in her life, just got 11 points.
Two tickets: "following too closely" and "failure to stop"
She was on a residential street and was behind a car at a crosswalk waiting for a pedestrian. Pedestrian crossed, they continued. Cop was drivig towards them down a side street , and as they passed he went after my wife.
I was driving in mid lane and was following a line of cars around speed limit.
The vehicle in front of me was large and I decided to change to the left lane to get better line sight.
As soon as I entered the left lane, I saw the car in front of me approximately 200m away stopped dead (for some odd reason, there was more traffic on the left lane).
Over the last few months I have received several parking tickets from the City of Kitchener. I haven't paid any of them and have attempted to dicuss the situation with the parking authority of the City, however, they're very unreceptive and defensive.
I work at a downtown construction site....ironically a Court House. The site takes up a whole city block, of which ONE side has 2 hour parking…
I was driving on a teusday night in the rain and fog at whites and highview by St. Mary CSS in Pickering, ON. At the time I was waiting at a red light to make a left north onto whites. There was also a car on the opposite side of the intersection making a left. The cars beams were pointed almost directly at my face and as a result, with the combination of the rain and fog, I…
I am new to this website and this is my first post so please forgive me if I've put this question in the wrong place. Please bear with me until I learn the ropes a bit.
So here are my questions:
Antique cars and hot rods (1930's- early '60's) and seat belt use in Ontario. If these vehicles never came from the respective factories with any seat belts, do they have to be retrofitted ?
OK so Jshreck has been taking some heat for the concept of providing the DL as being not required and therefore inadmissable in court. Personally, I think that argument would fall on deaf ears in the lower court and any chance at victory would have to be in the highest court. That would be quite something. When pigs fly I think, but along that line of thought, allow me to continue.......
I have a court date soon and am wondering whether the officers just read off their disclosure notes when interrogated.
Basically, according to the disclosure notes and the said distances and speeds quoted, by doing some simple math it just doesn't add up. My concern is whether the officer can change his story when on the stand after maybe realizing this?
Last week I was driving home from college in the sauga area. I drive a 1995 Chevy Monte Carlo v6 which I've owned since 2000, I really haven't done anything to the car except tinted windows (not completely darken) and some rims, and Nothing Engine wise. Anyway I look in my rear view mirror and out of no where i see cherry flashing. When pulled over the officer asked do you…
I was charged 2 days ago with RED LIGHT - FAIL TO STOP and set fined $150 and I guess 3 points. I was driving turning left on the intersection with a traffic light, and when I jst about to turn left the light turned to orange and I didn't have enough time to stop. Once I turned I saw the light turned to red and 2seconds later I saw a police beacon flashing through my rear-view mirror. It…
I figured pleading not guilty is the same as saying it was signed which is stupid. A friend of mine told me I could plead guilty with explanation and try to get the fine reduced when I come in.
So this Friday I was stopped by a local officer for going 110 in a 80zone. He also claims I was going 105 in a 50zone,which we literally passed when he stopped me as I was braking. It has been 3 days already and I can't seem to locate my ticket on their Internet site "pay ticket". Is there a way to determine if he has filed for certificate of offence to the courts? It has been 3 days I presume…
My trial date is in a couple days for a speeding ticket (york region) and i am nervous it is my first ticket ever as well as first trial
I did notice my ticket was filed beyond 7 days, 10 days after the day i got the ticket to be exact, which is stamped on the ticket. is this enough to have it dismissed?
If you look close enough, beside the drivers' side "A" pillar you will see a white circle = front antenna of Genesis radar......plus look above the dash pad...there is the Spectre RDD.
