Might wanna fill out the form on the bottom of the site. 50+ is 6 points, and that will wreak havoc to your insurance rates (they will most likely more than double)

nrg70, couple of questions. First, did the officer impound your vehicle? Also, did you happen to get the licence plate of the vehicle that was tailgating you? As racer said, get a paralegal involved. X-Copper is the website sponsor so they'd be able to help you. These charges have disastrous implications for your insurance and licence. In the mean time, take notes of your version of events, including the tailgating, and when you're able to, drive by the scene again to try to get a good recollection of everything that happened. The paralegal should provide additional guidance as well.

If you had your vehicle impounded, then you were charged with "Racing" (ss 172), which is even more serious than just simple "Speeding 50+". RI has some excellent points, follow the advice. PS: I moved the post to "Racing" category to reflect proper charge.

Hello everyone, I have a traffic court date coming up and I'm deciding if I should fight the ticket or pay it.
Here's what happened: I was driving between 110km/h and 115km/h on a 100km/hr limit highway (I know, I'm a rebel). The highway was busy but not congested and I was (unsurprisingly given my…
Over the last few months I have received several parking tickets from the City of Kitchener. I haven't paid any of them and have attempted to dicuss the situation with the parking authority of the City, however, they're very unreceptive and defensive.
Following on from the thread a while back about not talking to the police, sometimes that definitely doesn't work in your favour. I've had occasions where I've wanted to offer a warning but the offender has adamantly refused to accept responsibility leaving me no option but to charge.
i was travelling on the 401 (posted speed 100km/h) in the far left lane, when i caught up to a vehicle going ~110km/h. I patiently waited for the vehicle to move over a lane, but they did not. The vehicle behind me moved to the center lane to pass, but because he was a safe distance behind me, i…
I got charged with careless driving last year ( Nov 2015) while driving with my G1 ( alone) . I got my licensed suspend. A couple months ago I got pulled over and got charged with driving under suspension, without a full licensed driver with me, and I also got a ticket for not surrendering…
I apologize if this was already covered. I tried my hand at a few searches and came up with nothing quite relevant (although I may have missed something). I was having a group debate the other day with a few of my buddies regarding whether or not an individual could be issued a…
After 40 years of driving accident free and no traffic violations (not even a parking ticket) I made the mistake of going to get some gas after having a few drinks. I realized my mistake and immediately turned to go home and some cop stopped me for no reason. Probably he wanted to look closer at a…
Hello friends, so here is what happened when I was going to Ottawa from Etbicoke, I was driving my car on 120 spped on 100 speed zone but just for some time to pass the traffic I speed up to 150 in 100 zone, my bad suddenly I saw cop car was on my shoulder and pulled me over right way. Suspend my…
