Re: 32 over reduced to 15 over

In all honesty about the video the officer has no reason to falsify your ticket.

Nicer ones might reduce it a little bit. Lets say your 31 over he might put it to 29 over and save you a demerit point and a bit of money.

But the officer is not going to lie what speed you were going.

The officer does not get any more or less money or get any less ...

This whole thing is overblown.

Look 250 is to fast lets face it.

Did you guys also look at the ticket was at 12:30 am to.

In all honesty it was probably some young guy who just bought a new car and wanted to test it out and see how fast he got it.

I bet alot of you have done this. You may say but i bet you can remember being 25 and getting the ...

Re: Use of 'centre' lane

Thats the big problem with lane etiquette.

it happens all the time people get mad cause other drivers wont move to the right. They see the 2 left most lanes clogged. They lose their patience and start to not care. So they'll just pass on the right and race through other cars or cut others off to get around the moving road blocks.

This is the most ...

Absolutely tickets cost so MUCH money now people fight everyone.

Every young person that gets a ticket goes to court.

Auto insurance is such a rip off in this province almost no one under 30 will even take the chance.

Regardless i think the fact that tickets now cost so much and can result in huge insurance prices people will not pay they will ...

This is a true story froma family freind. They know a owner of a Lambourghini.

He gets pulled over on the 407 here is how the conversation goes.

Officer: Sir you dont have a front license plate.

Its good to find someone who thinks the same on this stuff.

Keynes and Fischer were wrong. Deficits to matter so does printing money. Inflation is the increase the money supply prices rise as a result.

Mises was right. Many people know this to. So do others such as F.A Hayek, Henry Hazlitt, Murray Rothbard. Everyone else has been wrong. The ...

I agree with racer. It is always neat to hear the perspective on an officer.

Obviously his opinion may be based on a police officers point of view but none the less i always enjoy his posts.

I have came to respect highway police much more after reading bears responses.

It is nice to see officers that do care and enjoy their job.

He is right. The 401 through Toronto is a mess to in some of those sections. Where the collectors and the express mix up around 427, blackcreek drive, and the 400 merge, along with the dvp merge. Talk about an absolute mess.

The fast lane of the collectors is merging with the slow lane of the express. People all over the place changing lanes at ...

Legal tender laws are funny.

They're is laws so you can not ask for payment in a certain type of money like quarters or pennies or nickles.

This is one way the government loves to hide inflation. In other countries as the government began to inflate the money supply people began to realize the money itself had more intrinsic value in the worth of ...

I wonder what they seem to have against imports.

I think the vics are still the vehicle of choice for the OPP. I think they received the highest crash rating for a rear end collision at 75 mph.

It is my guess if your an officer and you patrol these things day and night the most important is how comfortable and how safe they are.

Tailgating will never end on our highways nor will aggressive driving. The province does not understand cause and effect. More cops. more money more resources.

Go to court, always, always.

The system is flooded anyways. They cant handle it all. The more people that go to court the worse it gets.

The whole system of traffic tickets depends on people paying.

The more people that go means they will have to do a few things. Give less tickets. Charge less so people actually pay and don't fight. Raise the ...

Good ideas, so would a more realistic speed limit. Enforcement of the move over law.

" MOVE RIGHT EXCEPT TO PASS."

No body follows the rules. The 401 is retarded.

Everyone stays in the 2 left lanes. Some goof ball is always trying to do 110 in the left lane with a line of angry tail gaters behind him. No one travels in the left lane. So all the people who want to do over 130 just weave in and out of traffic or tailgate.

The only driving lane is the right lane ...

Interesting you guys only keep them to 150,000 km????

My question is for the Highway safety divisions why would they choose all tahoe's instead of charges or cars.

You would think for highway patrol you would want cars, and faster ones.

The charger would be perfect for highway enforcement.

What a joke.

They're just making it a crime what people already do regardless.

Most of the southern states have speed limits of anywhere from 75 to 85 in the desert down in texas.

Why do all sections and almost all 400 series highways have the same speed limit?

Rural areas should have higher limits and populated areas should have lower limits.

Almost all of Europe has this set up.

5. Another problem with 100 is you can't travel at this speed. Just try this anywhere around Toronto on a 400 series highway you can't do it. You'll get honked at, tailgated, passed, cut off. Why must you be forced to break the law to drive?

Because if you set higher speed limits there will always be a few inconsiderate A-holes who will break ...
