Actually i find where it gets bad is just before you enter kitchener when you go down the hill sometimes EVERYONE will slam on their brakes cause they see a cruiser.
Erm, 401 never enters Kitchener... The 85 coming north from 401 does. You must mean Cambridge, which the 401 barely grazes.
I hate to be a stickler... But the 401 goes through ...

Re: Driver clocked at 250 km/h
I amgonna have to agree with Radar identified.
I think our speeds our to low i think the limit should be anywhere from120-150 and some areas we dont need one.
The problem in ontario is we have no lane discipline some roads are terrible quality, and ot much traffic.
If we wanted a limit like that Toronto could not be the place. Even in germany ...

Re: I KNEW IT!!...
I like your theories. I agree with you on the 400.
The QEW is neat i find its alot of people late for work and start to push the flow of traffic up there.
The 403 is a weird road. The traffic is either flowing extremely slow or the left lane literally gets to unlimited speeds.
401 drivers are funny Youll notice in the parts that are not near ...

Re: Nice Traffic Enforcement Vehicles
It can be hard to move over with heavy traffic (GTA).
As regards to me driving dangerously, if that was the case the officer inside the car with the lidar unit would have pulled me over for speeding. I was slowing down and pulling to the right to get off at my exit and was quite shocked.
Secondly with the sirens anyone playing music in their car ...

Re: I KNEW IT!!...
radar identified you seem to know your roads.
Every time i enter the 400 i am amazed but someone going some crazy speed.
The QEW your right is very hard to set up radar traps. That detachment in Mississauga spends most of their time on the 403 looking for speeders and sometimes they go on the 401 i rarely see them by the QEW.
The QEW is so tight ...

Re: Nice Traffic Enforcement Vehicles
Sure you would be able to issue more tickets but some cars might not notice them like the marked vics.
When you see a marked vic it is clearly one and you get the hell out of the way.
Those lights bar on the roof can be seen from REALLY far away.
If there is an officer at the side of the road giving a ticket and he only has some light LED's on ...

Re: Lidar Intercept
Wholy *EDIT* what is going on there.
Looks like you guys got the whole force on the side of the 401.
I see some marked vics and the tahoe to.
Were you on the bridge with a laser tri pod and radio the cars when you get a speeder?
Why would you have all 8 there haha.
Looks like something you would expect to see on hwy 400 S/N.

Re: High-speed crash on Allen - your opinions, news.
As for the one on allen.
I think speed limits are a bit to high or right in the city.
In the city you have traffic lights, pedestrians, buses, people darting out infront, stop signs, cars going all which ways.
Speeding in the city is really stupid.
Infact i think downtown 50 or 60 is fast. There is so many things to pay attention to. This guy ...

Re: Jim Kenzie on truck Speed limiters
This article makes a good point. Slower does not = safer.
The province never thought about the unintended consequences of this law. It's messing with the natural flow of traffic.
I like the fact he also points out about having our officers actually ticketing people who are clogging the 2 left lanes stopping TRUCKS & cars from passing.

Jim Kenzie on truck Speed limiters

Make big trucks go slower and the roads will become safer.
Obvious, isn't it? It's also obvious when you look out the window that the world is flat.
Last Monday, truckers in Ontario tried to mount a convoy to Queen's Park to show their opposition to electronic speed limiters. These devices ...

Just to show my point. The top led bars can be bought for around 500.
But some guy with a dodge charger and 50 $ could put a couple grill lights on his car for some kicks.
