Re: Is it legal to carry a machete in your trunk?
Perfectly legal.
However, I would keep it out of sight. Store it in the trunk and keep it there until when you need it. Should you/your vehicle ever be searched by the police, I would advise them that it's there for the reasons you stated. Don't say it's for your protection or anything like that.

Re: Turn not in Safety - Is this a valid defese?
I don't doubt what you said, but why can't he perform those checks once your vehicle is pulled over? We've all seen dozens of times, officers pull someone over instantly after they observe an infraction - so I don't find your response valid.
In general, the officer IS lessening the chance you can find a witness. And not in this case, but ...

I was requested to show my documentation, and I replied "I'm not in care and control of this vehicle and therefore do not have an obligation to produce these documents, only my own identification."
So, how'd that work out for you?

"Suddenly a small car dashed up from behind the big white van and hit me."
That's the kind of sentence that will get you convicted.
Realistically, the prosecutor will strike up a deal with you and reduce the fine/demerit points.
When these traffic defense lawyers say they will win 100%, that doesn't mean you'll be off the charge scott free. It ...

"I know that it is an offense to not pull over immediately when you are asked to, but "
Boom. There you go. Whether it's clear, unclear, muddy, whatever, when instructions are made to pull over, PULL OVER and figure it out after. Otherwise- this happens.

Bumped a car, and there's absolutely zero damage?
.... lol..... that's when you say, 'Later!' and off you go. No note. No nothing. If there's no damage then who is interested?

Request disclosure and go from there.
And don't use a "language barrier" as a means to assist you in avoiding getting penalized for breaking the law, unless you really do require it. Pretty despicable in my opinion, and costs everybody in the city of Toronto extra expense through taxes as a result of paying the interpreter (they are paid for each ...

I just wanted to comment on your thinking the officer waited to pull you over because, in your mind, he was denying you access witnesses...
... LOL. Really? Okay *rolls eyes*
the reason for the delay was likely that he was conducting investigative checks on your vehicle, the registered owner, and/or advising his dispatcher that he would be ...

Re: Electronic Early Resolution Meeting Notice...what to do?
You can make a request for disclosure in writing and sent to the prosecutor's office of the appropriate courthouse.
You can pay up up to the court date, yes.
I don't know how you expect to have the ticket canceled as a result of delays... pretty weak strategy bro. Same with the officer not showing up. My advice would be during the conversation ...

Re: 10 days away from court date, can I still file for discl
You can file for disclosure any time. But I wouldn't expect to have received disclosure on time.
If you appear for your trial date and, having not received the disclosure, you request an adjournment, the delay will be deemed to been caused by you and any future trials will likely proceed whether you are prepared to or not.

During the trial you can present the photos as evidence.
They may be deemed inadmissible by the JP if they are not certified, but good luck.
