Re: No front license plate (out of province)
No. Although residents of Ontario who are driving vehicles registered from another province have a time limit before they are required by law to register the vehicle with Ontario and subsequently adorn it with Ontario plates (6 months I believe, I can't remember and am too lazy to look up HTA).

If the video doesn't help prove your case, why would you have any interest in having it played during the trial?

Re: multi-vehicle collision - careless driving
Everything Bend said is accurate.
You got the ticket because you were following too close to the vehicle and you did not allow your vehicle enough space to avoid the collision. It is your responsibility not to go careening into the back of somebody's car, even if they are involved in a collision, even if it's rainy, etc etc etc.

Re: U-Turn on HWY 401
Your defence needs work. The 'except authorized vehicles' is irrelevant to you having completed the U-turn contrary to the universal 'U-turn' sign. I doubt the court is interested in a definition of what an authorized vehicle includes because you weren't driving one.

If you don't show up for your trial, you'll be found guilty and a conviction will be registered with the fine shown on the ticket you received. It will not be raised.

The fine is defined by the Provincial Offences Act and can be changed as a result of government decision.

PS- I would hardly call any amber light a 'split second' decision unless there is not enough attention being paid to the automatic traffic signal.

Re: Driving with Headphones, Legal?
If your country's local law rules allow then it's legal other wise it's illegal. Some county law allow it and some not allow it. So first know your local rule and then after driving with headphones.

As long as the set fine matches up with the apparent speed limit written on the ticket, everything else could be corrected or are triable issued at court (including no DL #).

- you will not be charged for fraud by your insurance company. If you are caught driving without insurance, the first conviction is a minimum $5000 fine. So remain insured.
- In addition to the fines and extended suspensions for driving while under suspension, you can also be put in jail for up to six months.

Re: Am I Wrong? Laughed at by prosecutor - disclosure questi
I'm just curious as to how you think your Sec. 7 Charter right was violated, as Sec.7 is "the right to life, liberty, and security of the person."
You advised that you received disclosure from the officer (made a copy of his notes then and there for you). So disclosure has been satisfied.

Re: Disobey stop sign - stop wrong place
Okay so I have finally gotten my court date (Feb 4th) as well as my disclosure. The officers field notes are rather straight forward and short, they contest that I rolled a stop sign so she followed me, and watched me stop over the line at another, and then charged me.
I had taken site photos the day after the incident, and as well have created ...

Re: Can I sue the city for license suspension? Lawyer gurus?
My opinion would be no you can't sue the city. But here are some thoughts you should be aware of before pursuing legal action:
- Driving in Ontario is a privilege, not a right.
- Why is your driver's licence necessary for work? Could you have taken public transit or a taxi? Or made arrangements for a family member to give you a ride?
