What is the result? always the same thing, illegal lane changes and tailgating..
All the more reason to support UNMARKED traffic cars!!!
- could have stopped the lane hog and cleard the path

Re: Nice Traffic Enforcement Vehicles

I dont think vehicles like this should be used..

I would like to see 90% of hwy units be unmarked. Not as a "trap".

But having driven fully marked billboard and then driving my own vehicle.....people become ANGELS once they see a marked cruiser.....few minutes later, back being a jackass. So the deterence for the 1km approaching and 1km away ...

Re: Nice Traffic Enforcement Vehicles

Just to show my point. The top led bars can be bought for around 500.

But some guy with a dodge charger and 50 $ could put a couple grill lights on his car for some kicks.

That $500 light bar is 24" wide.... lowest 48" bar is $650, that does not include other components to ...

Re: Nice Traffic Enforcement Vehicles

Bear - on the subject of impersonating LEOs, and I know we're getting way off-track now, but if someone sees flashing lights and an indication to pull over at night, can they first turn on their 4-ways and then dial *OPP to confirm the officer's identity? Would the person at the other end be able to know anything if a service other than OPP is ...

Re: I KNEW IT!!...

Secondly something that puzzles me since day one maybee hwybear knows is why do all 400 series highways have that same limit of 100 for all times of the day. Clearly there is parts that can handle more than that at off peak times. I mean go drive to montreal at 3 am and tell me 100 is to fast......

Thats an easy one my friend.

Unlike the ...

Re: High-speed crash on Allen - your opinions, news.

If I read this correctly it is a single vehicle, with one driver, no passengers. Police will not do a blood test. It will be up to the coroner IF an autopsy is done, if that happens the coroner checks for anything medical, which includes alcohol, drugs, pre-existing health conditions etc.. and then determines cause of death

Re: $325 ticket for not stopping

I'm sure there is more to this than what we know, which should be indicated within the disclosure.

Often if there is multiple offences, we use all that evidence as careless driving. (ie did not signal, blew the sign and improper turn)

no traffic lighst involved.....turning from a thru road onto a sideroad, both roads paved. Was a pickup, plus a little village, so 3-4 witnesses watched it from a convenience store.

Re: Driver clocked at 250 km/h

I have seen the "lose traction" one used as a stunt...mind you it was a good one.....

guy turns from one road to another, hammers the gas spinning around the corner, loses control, goes over the curb, across the lawn and into a house (and not the garage  )

Re: I KNEW IT!!...

And it's interesting that Alberta's Ministry of Transportation will acknowledge that highway speeds are well in excess of 110 km/h, along with suggesting that vehicles doing 100 km/h are a hazard - why hasn't the speed limit been raised? Put the limit at 120 km/h, limit the trucks to 125 km/h. Everybody happy?

Limit everyone to 120km and be done ...
