Here's what I think happened:
The Volvo was pegged to the speed limit (as all Volvo's are). A grumpy old redneck was about to go by him in the other lane, when, because the Volvo guy was very tired, he wandered over into the other guys lane just a bit. This infuriated the pickup driver and he decide to ride just inches off his bumper to teach him ...

If someone refused to exit, then arrest as HTA 172 is an arrestable offence under the HTA.
Once someone is arrested under the HTA the motor vehicle can be detained with which the offence was committed until the final disposition of any prosecution under this Act.

9/32 is only about 30% tire wear, so the tires are likely an acceptable age unless your vehicle was stored for a while..
Do NOT trust the tread depth, check the date on the car....think it was CBC or W5 or similiar did research and a few new cars were being sent out with 2yr old tires, some tire dealers were actually putting on tires that were ...

Bent rim, metal into tire from car itself, (great evidence) plus the infamous "yaw"......still curious??Bookm wrote:Yaw?
Oh.. you mean bent from hitting curb? Would require evidence to that effect. Get Disclosure.
here ya go.....Tire yaw marks occur when a vehicle slides sideways while still moving forward.

No, the coroner will have a complete report. Sure you would be able to issue more tickets but some cars might not notice them like the marked vics.
do not care about tickets, it would be the "agressive drivers" you all complain about that would get the "hammer"
If there is an officer at the side of the road giving a ticket and he only has some light LED's on his grill i would be so upset ...

Have you noticed a difference between OPP's all-white and black-and-white cruisers?
I find the most noticeable difference is the blue lights on cruisers and reaction time with drivers. I believe it is b/c blue is known world wide for police and that C'dn TV is swamped with american television that show police shows with blue lights.

If you think the tire blew, you should find out why it blew. Not to help your case, but to prevent it from happening in the future. How old were the tires? What pressure were they set at? Winter tires, all-seasons, or summer tires?

Secondly something that puzzles me since day one maybee hwybear knows is why do all 400 series highways have that same limit of 100 for all times of the day. Clearly there is parts that can handle more than that at off peak times. I mean go drive to montreal at 3 am and tell me 100 is to fast......

If I read this correctly it is a single vehicle, with one driver, no passengers. Police will not do a blood test. It will be up to the coroner IF an autopsy is done, if that happens the coroner checks for anything medical, which includes alcohol, drugs, pre-existing health conditions etc.. and then determines cause of death

I'm sure there is more to this than what we know, which should be indicated within the disclosure.
Often if there is multiple offences, we use all that evidence as careless driving. (ie did not signal, blew the sign and improper turn)

And it's interesting that Alberta's Ministry of Transportation will acknowledge that highway speeds are well in excess of 110 km/h, along with suggesting that vehicles doing 100 km/h are a hazard - why hasn't the speed limit been raised? Put the limit at 120 km/h, limit the trucks to 125 km/h. Everybody happy?
