Re: I KNEW IT!!...

"As the (traffic) volume is set close to capacity ... more vehicle interactions take place and this leads to a reduction in safety especially for those segments with increased merging and lane-change activity, such as on- and off-ramp segments,'' reads the report prepared last year for Transport Canada by the University of Waterloo.

Re: Speeding 106km/hr in a 80km/h zone

On another point I was under the impression that I couldn't use my cell phone or other electronic devices while driving. If this is correct shouldn't this apply to officer's as well.

It is proposed legislation, but yet in affect. It is Bill 73, only has passed a first reading. The proposed legislation is hands free only. However, a few states ...

Re: Driver clocked at 250 km/h

Sure you can blame others for "getting in his way," but any driver with half a brain would not drive faster than a speed that would enable him or her to reasonably react to other drivers on the road and their stupidity. At 250, that is not possible.

That even happens to me with all lights activated, drivers just aimlessly pull out in front of ...

Our shift did an intercept program last week, we were stopping vehicles at 120km+ and only had 14 stops in an hour and 20 minutes. Waiting quite a bit...which is a good thing.

Our program was also set up as to avoid detection and flashing of headlights by the ...

Is it something easy for the officer to do especially when he has to be driving at the sametime?

Very easy to do.

- 5% stationary radar
- 5% lidar

I got a ticket for failure to surrender insurance because I did not have my new insurance stubs with me, just a bunch of expired ones. He said they don't have that ability, handed me the ticket and reminded me that my ...

This is dangerous???? Everyone else is going 120-130? 50 over? Who are you endangering? You want to go 310 on a 3 lane highway with no one else on it. It's your choice if you can kill yourself and crash head on into that huge concrete slab separating you between the oncoming traffic.

It most certainly is a stunt "as defined" by the Highway Traffic Act.

Re: Speeding 106km/hr in a 80km/h zone

The wrong time probably won't get it thrown out right away, but it will really weaken the Crown's case because it damages the officer's credibility. The Prosecutor may just drop the charge rather than risk losing in court, depending on the Prosecutor.

So many avid drivers on here have a huge beef for "follow too close", "unsafe lane changes" and "inexperienced drivers (G1, G2)".

If the reaction time is approx 0.1 s, in that time the driver at 113 will travel exactly 139 mm (5.5 in) ahead of the 108 guy. If you take the reaction time to be 0.2 seconds, that's 278 mm (11 in)... When you are taking 50 m to stop, that difference in negligible, I also did round well more up when calculatin for 113 guy as opposed to 108 dude ...
