Re: Plea to non-HTA offence? Or non moving violation?

Practically zero.

The reduced charge usually has to be in the same category and somewhat relevant to the original charge.

Re: Who is at fault

I'd argue both drivers are at fault.

The driver making the right needs to make a complete stop before continuing. Had he made the complete stop rather than slowly rolling, he would have been entitled to make that turn as he has his own lane and the driver making the left has his.

The driver making the left also made an error. You are required to ...

Re: Parking too close to a driveway?

So i received the ticket because i was parked 36cm over the edge of the curb and not the driveway?

The edge of the curb is the beginning of the driveway. You're supposed to give a 45cm buffer between your car and the end of the curb, meaning you should be parked more than a foot more forward. I'm assuming whomever wrote the ticket started ...

Re: Parking too close to a driveway?

It's hard to read the ticket, but I don't believe it says you were 36 cm away from the driveway but rather you're obstructing it by 36 cm.

You're already parked on the curb drop and the driveway is angled. The picture you provided is also a tad misleading:

More than a justified ticket, in my opinion.

Re: Uninsured / unlicensed / unplated - On private property?

I'd be lying if I said I knew the answer. It's my understanding that there's no requirement for insurance on private property for let's say a motor vehicle.

However, dirt bikes, atv's, etc require mandatory insurance for any property that isn't your own private property.

Any accident where you are deemed 25% or less at fault shouldn't count as a chargeable accident.

Re: Tunes blasting on police dash cam

You've made no connection between your speed and an officer with a loud radio. You may believe it's unprofessional, but it does nothing to prove you weren't speeding. I guess if you wanted to make a complaint through the proper avenues, you could do that. It seems a little petty to go through that process though. It has nothing to do with your ...

The only defense to an absolute liability offense would be an emergency situation. I don't think anyone is giving out tickets during that kind of scenario, anyways.

FMI: when did the law change?

In 2012, the wording of the regulation changed.

Here is the regulation:

6. (1) A permit for a motor vehicle shall be validated by means of evidence of validation provided by the Ministry. O. Reg. 119/12, s. 1.

(2) Evidence of validation for a permit shall be affixed to a number plate for the vehicle in ...

I suggest you read your insurance policy carefully.

You have 7 days to report any accident to your insurance regardless (unless you're in a hospital or whatever.

Re: Speeding Tickets Effects on Insurance

If you are not listed on your parents policy, then in theory it should not affect their policy. But if you are listed at the same address as them, then it might. So what I am saying is I am not sure how to answer your question!

Anyone living under the same residence has to be listed as an occasional driver. Otherwise, you have to fill out an ...

Good to know the limit when no sign. However for many people or noob driver, they have no clue there is a default limit. I bet they wlill be charged without knowing it.

Even if you ignore the whole "ignorance is not a defense" argument, default speed limit is one of the first things you learn about driving before even getting behind a wheel. It ...

Re: Am I really at fault? Please help...

Both parties have different stories about how the accident occurred. The best your provider can do is look over whatever evidence they have, figure out which story makes the most sense, and come to the most logical conclusion based on the Fault Determination Rules. That's the way the cookie crumbles.

If you have pictures and a location, feel free ...

Re: RADAR DETECTOR CONFICATION

You'll lose your device for good and it will impact your insurance if you're a resident of Ontario.

There's a lot of urban myths regarding the radar detector (eg. You can put it in your trunk, back seat, or turn it off and it's legal to be in possession of one). You can't have them in your vehicle, period. As others have pointed out, I believe ...
