Re: URGENT: London, ON voting on RED LIGHT CAMERAS

250alp wrote:$325 ticket, give me a break, plus insurance penalties for 3 years?

Red light camera tickets have no impact on insurance. They are glorified parking tickets. No honest "ticket fighter" will ever take your money to defend such a charge because their time would cost more than the ticket would ever cost you.

Re: URGENT: London, ON voting on RED LIGHT CAMERAS

And you all know that red light cameras ticket rolling RIGHT TURNS right?

Let's pretend that making a right on a red without stopping wasn't already illegal.

These cameras work based off of triggers that correspond to speed. These cameras start picking up action when it recognizes something moving over a certain speed right before the line. I ...

Re: 2 tickets, 2 different courthouses. Cop says Quota Syste

The OP didn't upload his tickets. I did. What I was trying to show is that I believe that he is telling the truth behind the false charges. My headlights weren't out but I still got charged for it. Bear in mind, I was originally pulled for Stunt Driving, and he gave me a break, which is what I'm assuming happened to the OP.

Your original post 2 ...

Re: 79 in a 50, question about officer's notes

Also, he's a local cop in a scuzzy city with real crime, not an OPP officer, and I was pulled over during a back to school blitz (not near a school though! which the officer himself said) so I don't think speed enforcement is what he usually does/cares about.

They get paid to show up. It's an ordinary work day and they don't get to choose to ...

Re: Never talk to the police & Know your rights

Being questioned by the police on your doorstep and being stopped by the police in your vehicle are two different things. Driving is not a right, therefore you are not afforded some of the same rights and are required to follow certain orders by an officer. Posting links on what to do during a criminal investigation interrogation is getting a bit ...

Here is another good article on the Right to Silence:

No, i'd disagree. This forum deals mostly with run of the mill Highway Traffic Act charges. You've linked to something barely relevant to continue your "stick it to the man" routine here on the forum. Anyone seeking advice for ...

Re: Snow Clearing of Car Question -Section 74 (1A)

It was always my understanding that it applied to the windshield (obviously) and the windows in the front seats (particularly because of their view to the mirrors).

Obviously, not all cars come equipped with windows behind the driver and a cube van type vehicle may not have a rear window to begin with. I don't even believe you have to clean the ...

What kind of fines are we talking about? Parking tickets or tickets against your license?

No, the fines don't get any better. I'd also inquire to see if your license has been suspended in Ontario before you consider driving here with ANY license.

Re: Fail to yield left turn traffic on a green light

Like I said, take a stab at pleading to the 2 paper charges and withdraw the big one...ya don't shoot, ya don't score...

And I certainly wouldn't take the 2 paper tickets over the moving violation ticket. Points mean nothing unless you are a habitual offender - it's all about the insurance and I'd rather have 1 ticket than 2. They don't care ...

Whether my decision to brake or accelerate as my choice of avoidance can't be refuted since their was no accident substantiate the decision, but it was a decision I made for my "safety".

There's a million things wrong with your defense. Ignoring the fact that not stopping at a stop sign is an absolute liability offense and you've already ...

I'm not sure I follow the logic in this explanation. If anything, you should have more incentive to make that stop, not the other way around.

Re: REQUESTING DISCLOSURE OF RADAR/LIDAR MANUAL

Even if you convince a JP that you need the whole manual and the prosecutor doesn't put up much of a fight, they probably aren't going to print or scan the thing for your convenience. They'll offer to book you an appointment and you can take a look at the manual at their offices. Your case will be adjourned and now you have to set aside another 2 ...

Re: 16yr Son-G1 Licence-Friend's Vehicle-Accident In Parking

When you lend your car, you lend your insurance.

If this lady in the SUV decides she's had enough of these shenanigans, she'll go through her insurance. When she does that, the policy holder of the other vehicle (the sister) will be at fault whether they were driving or not (unless that other driver is on the policy, which a 15 year old kid is not ...

Re: Does this count as "Fail to remain"? What are my options

Thank you all for your replies. The person who hit my car ended up reporting it to the security personnel yesterday (a day after he hit my car).
It is who I expected it to be so I went out and got a quote to fix my car and called him to let him know it's $1200.
He said the price was too high and to give him one day to talk to his "mechanic".

Do ...

Re: Warn offences and Insurance rates.

Unless you hold a license with alcohol restrictions (zero), blowing a warn should have zero impact on your insurance. It's an administrative suspension. Administrative suspensions can be given out for multiple reasons, and as far as I know, those reasons aren't disclosed on your abstract. There's no trial and no conviction. An insurance provider is ...
