-Could I request a First Attendance without requesting a trial/court date?
Check the back of your ticket. Some will have an option for an early resolution meeting, some don't. If not, request a trial and then ask at the Courts about an early resolution meeting. Even if you request a trial, you don't have to go through with it. You can either work ...

Re: [HELP] First Ticket- 130km/h on Highway 401- Confusion!!
I now play a game of sticking EXACTLY to the speed limit when I drive- hilarious when I go 30km/h on the on-ramps with traffic behind me
The yellow speed limit signs you see for on/off ramps are the suggested maximum speed, not the actual limit. They're a safe speed for a fully loaded transport truck that might tip, not your everyday passenger ...

Re: Parking lots
The HTA states that youre required to have a licence when driving on a highway. Based on HTA definitions, a mall parking lot would not meet this definition, therefor no licence is required. However, the mall lot is private property. The mall, if they wish, can insist that anyone operating a motor vehicle on their property do so with a licence. You ...

Re: Foot Path Bylaw
The majority of times bylaw offences will not appear on your abstract and won't impact your insurance. The only exception I'm aware of are bylaws relating to prohibited turns at intersections.

You'd have to confirm what exactly you were pleading guilty to. If it was a local bylaw, it likely wouldn't appear on your driving abstract and wouldn't impact your insurance. If it's simply another HTA offence, then it will appear on your abstract and likely will impact your insurance.

Re: Desperate! PLEASE help!! Trial in 17 days!
It's difficult to say based on Google street view alone, but I don't think the southbound stop sign is properly placed. It appears that it's actually in the intersection, when in fact it should be placed before the intersection. It's still quite visible and likely fully legal due to the double driveway making proper placement impracticable, but ...

Re: Desperate! PLEASE help!! Trial in 17 days!
The photo you posted doesnt show the intersection very clearly, but I can see a sidewalk meeting the road for oncoming traffic. Oncoming cars would be required to stop there. Can you tell us what the intersection is so we can see it in Street View?

Dash cameras:
Yes, video evidence can be used in court, though there are certain requirements. Id do a search of these forums for the guide to using photographic evidence. Should be a good start.
Car meets:
1) There is no requirement under the Highway Traffic Act, but depending on the municipality there may be bylaws associated with such meets.

Re: Affects of tire size?
While not 100% accurate, most GPS units give real time speed information. Many highways also have mile (or kilometer) markers, so you could time yourself between markers and see if it matches your indicated speed.

No. I'm quite sure the officer believes you didn't stop.

1) Drive Motor Vehicle - Fail to Display Two Plates 7(1)(b)(i) HTA - $85/$110
2) Same as above if the officer can articulate in Court why the plate isn't readily visible on the dash, etc.

Re: DUI DROPED! Insurance Questions. PLEASE HELP!
The FSCO released a bulletin in 2006 stating insurers aren't to use administrative suspensions to calculate risk, since there's no conviction associated with it. In short, your provider should not be able to increase your rates.

Re: Right of way. Stop Sign at Crossroads
Basically just remember first come, first serve. The first vehicle to a stop at the stop sign has right of way over other vehicles at the stop sign. Doesnt matter if youre proceeding straight through or turning.

1) Very unlikely. Keep in mind the Crown thinks youre going to trial and would be under the impression they can simply amend the error.
2) Correct. If your strategy failed, the conviction would take longer to appear on your record and impact your insurance rates for less time.

No personal experience with the process, but Id agree with Daggx that the simplest way is to do nothing. What benefit do you think there is to requesting a trial and not showing?
