I would, however, advise that you don't use the excuse that you couldn't see the light due to the bus blocking you. You *technically* should of slowed down and proceeded with caution, if you could not see the lights. (Not trying to judge you, just pointing out that the courts probably won't be sympathetic to you).

Re: Reasonable time to report single vehicle accident
There isn't a set time, but you're required to report an accident "forthwith". I can appreciate when it's just you you may feel there's less urgency, but you're still legally required to report it as so as practicable. It would be hard to legally justify not calling from home or the hospital. You may want to consult with a paralegal because a ...

Take a read through the forums, there's lots of advice on speeding tickets and common defense strategies. You'll also want to request disclosure and see what the actual evidence against you is for more specific advice on defense strategies. Another option is to try and get a plea deal, such as agreeing to plead out to the licence restriction charge ...

Regulation dealing with signs is here: http://www.canlii.org/en/on/laws/regu/r ... g-615.html
I'm not aware of any rule stating which side of the road it needs to be posted on. Might help if you gave us the actual intersection and City so people could have a look at the sign on Google maps.

1) No. The delays are attributed to you, not the Courts. All you have is the initial 9 month delay between the charge and your first Court date.
2) Chances are a professional could obtain better results, but that will be dependent on what the actual charge is and what kind of outcome you expect.

I'd suggest a Court appointed translator as well. The Court pays for the costs, and a Court appointed translator would be somewhat familiar with the Court process and may have a better grasp of legal terminology.

That's about all that will happen, they can't charge you or anything, unless the cop himself witnessed it.
Not entirely true. If the witness can identify you as the driver, you could still be charged. It's probably not likely, and a simple warning is the most likely outcome, but there is no requirement for police to witness any offence. The ...

1) If you can't read the notes, then you can certainly make another request for a typed copy. I'm guessing you've used the disclosure list from Ticketcombat and asked for everything. Was just reading an article on Wheels.ca about faded licence plates that reminded me of some earlier posts on these forums.

The officer has seven days to file the ticket with the Courts, so if you were charged last Thursday he still has until tomorrow. Even once he's filed it, there could still be a delay before it appears on their system. Maybe if you're lucky he forgot to file it, but it's still too early to be sure.

So out of curiosity, what is your defense strategy? If you're going to try and argue it's unsafe to have pedals attached, that would probably be a very uphill battle. I've never heard of Courts going against Ministry equipment regulations. The other issue in my mind is that even if you show the pedals are unsafe, they'll ask you why you simply didn ...

You would want to plead not guilty and speak with the Crown prior to trial to try and work out a deal. There is no guarantee they will simply withdraw the charges, more likely they will withdraw one charge and/or offer a reduced fine.

At this time, I'm not aware of any reciprocal agreement for parking tickets involving out of Province plates. The City obtains owner information from the MTO, which can only provide it for Ontario plates. In short, it shouldn't effect your ability to register the vehicle, nor should there be any record linked to it regarding parking fines.

There are several Highway Traffic Act and Transport Canada regulations that cover various equipment height/dimension limits, but they're scattered all over the place. Wow, the wording is clear as mud. The way I read it, if your sticker expired in January, the next month is February. If you count February as the first month, 12 months takes you to January of the following year, so no grace period.
I tried to check online for clearer information and of course the MTO pages were of no help. Googling away however ...

Dont worry, parking tickets have no effect on insurance. You can certainly fight the ticket, but I dont think the reason why you were parked there is sufficient justification. It would probably be more a matter of having the Crown show that you were parked in a disabled loading zone and having the bylaw officer attend Court to testify. The other ...

Not sure what the officer meant, because he cant "write off" a ticket once it has been issued. Youre correct in that with option 2, you can only get a reduced fine. The conviction and demerit points would still go on your record. Many insurance companies will overlook your first conviction, but it varies from one company to the next. Not sure, but ...
