Re: Lift kits
There are several Highway Traffic Act and Transport Canada regulations that cover various equipment height/dimension limits, but they're scattered all over the place. I'd do a search on this forum as I think some people have posted specific limits before. I think the main issue is that your lighting has to be within a certain height of the roadway and wheels have to have adequate protection to prevent road spray.
Just FYI, Ontario laws seem to be pretty vague and relaxed. Many other Provinces and States are less lenient, so just be aware if you plan on driving out of province.

Re: Lift kits
As Stanton said, they are all over the place, but I would check mudguard requirements under HTA s. 66(3), O/Reg 625 on Tire Specifications (though the only charge is driving with studded tires in s. 9(1) - the rest of the sections just go to whether the vehicle has proper tires per s. 70(3)(a) of the HTA or is unsafe per s. 82). Also check Schedule 1 under Regulation 611, specifically s. 1(1)(c) on mudflaps, s. 4(1)-4(6) on suspension, and s. 7(1)-7(3) on tires. Again these are not related to specific charges, they just go to whether the vehicle is unsafe under s. 82.

Double Talk??
So many avid drivers on here have a huge beef for "follow too close", "unsafe lane changes" and "inexperienced drivers (G1, G2)".
Yet those same people offer advice to these drivers to get off their tickets when they finally get caught.....that just doesn't make sense!
First Timer...Please help!
Hi all,
I'm new to this forum and this is my first post.
I got a hand-held device ticket on Thursday March 16. $490 and 3 demerit points. The officer was hiding on a street and I drove by him with my phone in my hand.
Was just wondering if it's worth fighting it?
Has anybody got their points…
Received 3 demerit points in Quebec on zero tolerance
I had a speeding ticket in May 2013 which brought me to 9 demerit points out of 15. I received a letter and had to attend an interview. Due to a history of speeding tickets and a previous interview a few years prior, the interviewer decided to put me on zero tolerance for a year. Meaning if I…
Question about Red Light Camera on Highway 7 and Bathurst !

Following to Closely to a unmarked Cop Car
Today I was pulled over by a cop, and he told me that I was following to closely. There was no collision - I was following him, and I had kept enough distance (I would have atleast 1 car length or more) - when he turned on the lights and siren, I pulled over - this means that I was able to brake in…
136km in 100km zone, 401 W, Cornwall, Aircraft Enforcement
Per the subject, I was stopped just over a week ago. I mentioned to the officer that I was going with traffic, and couldn't have been going over 125km. He mentioned that I was spotted by aircraft, and that he is just the messenger for aircraft patrol.
At this point, I have a 4 point ticket, $271…
Speeding and Follow Too Closely
I'm writing for myself this time.
This morning, I was on the WB 407 on my way to school. For about 15 km, I was following an OPP SUV in the left lane. The officer was generally driving between 120 and 125, and I made sure to keep a safe distance. Before I go any further, yes, I know I was speeding,…
Ticket not submitted in 18 days
Hi,
I was recently charged with a speeding ticket and driving with a suspended license. I was given the tickets on Feb 3rd and have since hired a paralegal. The paralegal asked when my court/summons date was. I cannot seem to find my tickets so I called the court and gave them my driver's license to…
Spelling error on proof of insurance - Ticketed
Hi Everyone
How easy would it be to beat a ticket for "failing to provide proof of insurance" for the simple reason of a street name misspelling on my proof of insurance? The street is a woman's name, ending in ie, but the insurance slip was spelled with a y. In my mind this is not a failure to…
